8-0 on the road, too. The Spurs are the only team in the NBA who is undefeated on the road. Let's make it 9-0 tomorrow night.

Just to think. The Spurs have 6 home games after they face the Clippers tomorrow night and before they face the Magic on the road. I smell another 8 game winning streak. If they lose any of those games, I will be very very very mad!!!!! :bang:ihit:madrun:cuss j/k :D

And what about Ginobili.... the dude has been playing freakishly good! In the last 5 games he's averaging 26.4 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 6 apg, 2.2 stls on 51% fg, 42% from threes and 94% ft. Wow.

Who is getting carried away? All he said is that they're playing good and "looking" like a number 1 seed. I don't see how that's getting carried away seeing as how we're 15-2. Chill out.

I think it'll be between Ginobili and Derrick Rose for player of the month. In fact I think goes by conference so they both may get the honor. The only other player I can see challenging Ginobili in the West is Dirk or maybe Russell Westbrook. I can't think of anyone else in the West who's been playing as good.

Dirk's not only POM, but an early MVP candidate.

So far I'm impressed with the Spurs. They are winning a lot of games they would have lost a season ago and I hope they can maintain this trend. Problem is, some borderline-allstar or second tier player always goes nuts when playing against the Spurs. Last year they lost games where the likes of David West or that Toronto PG (can't remember the name) went on a scoring spree against them.

Agreed. But it's always good to have games in the bank so when times get tough you have a little cushion and down the stretch you can throw a game or 2 while resting tim tony and manu for the only run that matters. the playoffs. :toast

The Lakers have one, too, and with more home games so far, and they aren't making the hay that the Spurs are.

That's an amazing start.

What is better is that this great start is not because of an easy schedule which would have meant that the hardest part of it was to come. Spurs have played 17 games which is the league average, 8 at home and 9 on the road and their SOS is .515.

The 96 Bulls played at this clip for the entire season.

Warlord23

Not only is the SOS decent (0.515), look at how well they are doing in these statistical categories:

Offensive efficiency (3rd)
True shooting % (3rd)
eFG% (4th)
Assist ratio (5th)
Rebounding rate (5th)

If the D can show some improvement, we're in business.

It's going to be interesting to see how many minutes Pop plays Duncan tonight. On the last B2B Duncan logged in 33 min in the 1st game and only 17 on the 2nd game.

Not sure Duncan can play so few minutes and the Spurs win.

Manu played 30 minutes so likely he will get around the same amount tonight.

To beat 100% of the teams you are supposed to beat is damn hard in any professional sport. As long as the spurs keep moving the ball on offense and playing average (spurs) defense then this team is going to keep winning. Now if the defense picks up, like the 2nd half of the hornets game, then this team is scary.

Very good point. Weird games happen, like the Hornets dropping a game to the Clippers or the Lakers' current three game skid against unmentionables. Sometimes you just have a bad night and drop an easy win. In fact, it usually happens at least one out of every 10 or so games. So to be able to win them ALL so far is awesome (except for those against a couple elite teams). Minnesota looks pretty bleak, but in the end the team pulled out a tough hard fought win. That takes guts, even if it was the T-Wolves.

it's vital for the Spurs to have homecourt advantage at least through the first 2 rounds of the playoffs. by the third round, it's usually the best team that wins. but those first two series are important. against NO in '08, the Spurs had to fight back even though they were the better team. they ended up being much more tired and banged up than they should have going into the WCF. i'll be happy with the record as long as it's at least #2 in the west.
