I've hated that damn Christmas Shoes song since I first laid ears on it, though I have to admit that I can now almost appreciate it's subversive edge. Like a musical version of The Da Vinci Code it puts forth it's own controversial take on the true nature of Christ, in this case implying that dude had a foot fetish. Why else would a pair of shoes be what's needed to look beautiful when meeting him?

Of course, this idea is hardly new. Many scholars believe that the Vatican heavily edited the story of Jesus washing the apostles feet, removing the term "raging mega-boner" amongst other things.
