Time for tea-bagger types to walk the walk...are we going to hold our politicians responsible when they don't live up to expectations (or laws) or was it all political demagoguery?

Members of the State Republican Executive Committee will consider a resolution this weekend calling on Gov. Rick Perry to immediately pardon former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, who last week was convicted on felony counts of conspiracy and money laundering. The SREC consists of two members from each of the state’s 31 Senate districts, and it serves as a board of directors, of sorts, for the state party. Members are elected at the state GOP convention. Below is the entirety of the DeLay resolution submitted by committee member Clint Moore of Spring:

Whereas, then-Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle desperately tried to get five Travis County grand juries to indict then-U.S. House Republican Majority Leader, Tom Delay, on criminal political money laundering charges, based on Earle’s politically-biased beliefs and partisan interpretation of history...

Be it resolved, that the State Republican Executive Committee calls upon Governor Rick Perry to immediately issue a total pardon of Mr. Delay on all charges, in order to end the absurd political circus and gross abuse of our judicial system by Earle and his successor, as well as the corrupt Democrat judges of that county...

Two sets of laws...

Who in this are the Tea Party members exactly? Who is the subject of your question exactly? Rick Perry?

Why Perry cannot immediately pardon Tom DeLay

a Texas governor does not have sweeping pardon authority.

Perry can only grant a pardon on the recommendation of a majority of the Board of Pardons and Paroles.

And DeLay would not be elilgible for a pardon under the board's rules:

The Board will consider Full Pardon requests for the following cases:

(01) Individuals on parole/mandatory supervision/annual report must have been under supervision for at least one (1) year without any violations during the last twelve (12) months.

(02) Former TDC or TDCJ-ID inmates who have discharged their sentences.

(03) Probated sentences (completed, unless unusual circumstances).

(04) Suspended sentences (completed).

(05) Jail sentences (completed).

(06) Misdemeanor sentences (completed).

The taunt is very hard for me to understand.

It is time for tea bagger types to <<walk the walk>>, somehow in relation to the (im)possibility that Perry will pardon DeLay. WTF does that even mean?

That Perry should decline the pardon and send DeLay to pmita prison, for decency's sake, something like that?

Am I even close, Dan?

I guess Dan means the self-proclaimed pure-as-driven-snow tea bagging Real Americans should abandon one of their heroes when he's convicted of a felony.

But we know the tea baggers are moranic fakes (eg, the tea bagger Congressional Caucus has put in requests for $1B in their hated earmarks), so the tea baggers will probably claim that the "jury of his (defense-vetted) peers" were unanimously politicized, corrupt socialists.

Which super-wealthy TXans and TX oilcos finance the TX tea baggers?

Ok. Who?

It's not a secret that the tea baggers were largely funded by Freedom Watch and Faux News and they get their money from the Koch Brothers and Murdoch..

...but as a philosophical point, this is a real test for tea-bagger types...

Are they gonna let a crooked politician serve the consequences of his actions in office or are they gonna surrender their beliefs and support Delay walking...

So... am I the only one who, every time I glance quickly at the list of titles, wonders why there's a thread about Dolly Parton in the Political Forum?
