SALT LAKE CITY (December 3, 2010) – The NBA announced today that Utah Jazz guard Deron Williams has been named the league’s Western Conference Player of the Month, presented by Kia Motors, for games played in October and November. This is the first Player of the Month award for Williams, who has been named Player of the Week three times, most recently for November 8-14, 2010.

Williams becomes the fourth different player in Jazz history to win Player of the Month, and it is the 12th such award in franchise history. He joins John Stockton (once), Karl Malone (seven times) and Carlos Boozer (twice), with Boozer the most recent Jazzman to win the award, taking the honors for February 2010.

The 6-3, 209-lb. point guard led the Jazz to a 14-5 start, averaging 21.9 points to go with 9.9 assists, which ranked third in the league. Williams compiled 10 double-doubles and shot .856 from the free throw line. Williams led the Jazz to its second-best November winning percentage (.813) in franchise history and first place in the Northwest Division. He helped the Jazz overcome double-digit deficits to win eight of its 14 games, including a four-game sweep of an Eastern Conference road trip at Miami, Orlando, Atlanta and Charlotte. Williams also hit two last-second game-winning shots, nailing a driving lay-up with 6.8 seconds remaining in double-overtime to defeat the L.A. Clippers, 109-107, on November 6, then a week later draining a floater with 0.8 seconds left to give the Jazz a 96-95 victory in Charlotte on November 13.

Don't hate. Dirk or Dwill were the only choices ....either giy would of been a solid choice ...Pau/Cp3 started hot but fizzled ...Westbrook made a late push too ..

Westbrooke/Dirk and Manu (best team record and 3rd in Hollinger efficiency ratings in the league and incredibly clutch) were the other legit awards based on PER and actual performances in leading teams but Williams a very solid choice but I would have personally chosen Dirk.
