Blazers fall to Wizards, stagger to sixth consecutive defeat (http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/index.ssf/2010/12/washington_83_portland_79_blaz.html)
Joe Freeman, The Oregonian
...Quite simply, the Blazers are a mess and there does not appear to be any relief in sight.
"Everybody's at a loss for words," Roy said. "Coach (Nate McMillan), he doesn't know what to say to us. And we don't know what to say to one another."
In fact, an emotional and perplexed McMillan walked into the Blazers' locker room after the game and told his team it looked as if they hadn't been listening to -- or were ignoring -- the message he and his staff have been preaching for days.
"Evidently, they're not responding to me, because all these games look similar," McMillan said. "So I asked them: 'Is it clear what we're asking you to do?'"
His words were met with blank states and silence.
"They didn't say anything," McMillan said. "The thing is, they didn't have to say anything. I think the games show that. We're not getting it done."
..."It's the same result six straight games," Roy said. "They're games that we've had control, not just leading, we've had control. And we just kind of go blank there for a while and can't score and can't get stops. ... It's not like we've gotten blown out from the jump in any of them. We (keep) getting whooped in the second half."
..."We are just not on the same page," Roy said. "I can't ... figure out how to get everybody on the same page. Seems like Coach is having the same frustrations. We're going to need guys to be men and be professionals and step it up. That's going to be the goal from here and my message to the team -- let's be men and try to turn this thing around."
