I saw a tweet from Manu the other day I didn't think much of and, really, just blew off after nothing was reported. But someone just sent me this:

San Antonio Spurs' Manu Ginobili Videos A UFO? (http://www.ufodigest.com/video/san-antonio-spurs-manu-ginobili-videos-ufo)

“I thought I saw a plane in flames” was the first thing the San Antonio Spurs player aid, unwilling to talk about aliens.

The strange phenomenon caught him while relaxing with a friend. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing up in the sky and in full view of everyone.

“I think I’ve just seen an airplane in flames plummeting! Unless I’m still asleep and its just a dream,” wrote Manu Ginobili in his Twitter account. A considerable number of his followers thought he was either joking or tipsy. But a day later he confirmed his remarks: “What did I see last night? Was there any news about it anywhere?”

You can hear Manu at the end saying, "I don't know?!?"

Figures it'd be Manu. :lol

Remember that time people were freaking out in Austin cause of some UFO? That was like 2 years ago probably? Then it turned out it was debris from the satellites. Just saying.... must've been something similar.

San Antonio Spurs star Manu Ginobili wants answers -- because dude spotted an unidentified flying object in L.A. earlier this month ... and he's desperately trying to figure out what the hell it was.

Manu eyeballed the UFO when he was in town to play the Clippers on December 1 -- and he has since launched a serious investigation into the matter ... which involved a lot of Googling.

Manu posted his findings on his Facebook page yesterday, saying the best answer he could come up with was "a kind of spacecraft which is called X-37B and was supposed to land in the area between December 3 and 6. According to various media, it landed on Dec 3."

Manu points out that he spotted the craft on December 1 ... not December 3 ... so THE MYSTERY REMAINS.

So, we gotta ask ...

I was amused when I saw his note in Facebook thinking, only Manu Ginobili can be a star and feel like he still has to explain himself to people. :lol but let's face it, Manu's always been geeky.

Put this is the game blog, thought it belonged here too.

Pop says DeJuan Blair's improvement at the foul line this season has been amazing. But not as amazing as the prospect of extra-terrestrials.

Never doubted Worm's existence. Just sanity. RT @ArtGarcia_NBA Does he? Pop traded Rodman so not sure he believes in it.

Pop on UFOs/aliens: "It's obvious they exist. Anybody with half a brain realizes theres more life out there in the world."

So now TMZ has nothing better than to talk about what a non celebrity athlete has to say about UFO's even several days after Manu posted it. Things must be really slow there or Manu has Tony to thank now :).

interstellar travel is so difficult that if an alien race from another planet can travel all the way over here, they can probably destroy us with little resistance. the reason they hang around air force and nuclear bases is that they are making sure we don't destroy ourselves.

Hey, Manu: Here’s another UFO believer (http://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursnation/2010/12/12/hey-manu-heres-another-ufo-believer/)
Mike Monroe

...Trail Blazers coach Nate McMillan related his own encounter — not that close, but definitely unexplainable — with an object in the sky he couldn’t identify.

...“I was playing football with friends, and on the way home, behind the library I saw something that looked a little strange to me as a kid,” McMillan said before Sunday’s game between the Spurs and Blazers. “It was just starting to get dark, and on my way home, walking behind the library, I just saw something that didn’t look right."

“I’m not saying a UFO. I just saw something that, for me, was, well, I don’t know what I saw. I never really said anything about it, or made a fuss about it, but it was weird to me.”

SAN ANTONIO -- The Spurs Manu Ginobili finally has his answer about that UFO he says he spotted in the sky.

It turns out, Manu is not crazy. Okay, maybe he is crazy. But he's not seeing things. Manu took a bunch of flack last week after claiming he saw a UFO. The tabloids even picked up on it and poked fun at him. They told Manu it was some sort of aircraft landing.

But Manu knew better, and he was right. It was a group of skydivers falling to earth while carrying high-powered flares, not some sort of aircraft landing like he had been told.
So, he was right about UFO's. As for picking up bats with rabies? Well, that's another story.

That's the third time I've read that explanation for different events over the past couple of months. The Golden Knights are taking credit (blame) for these. One in Arizona, One in New York, and Manu's.

That parachuting team has been around forever, and their show isn't much different than before, but now three times in a couple of months people mistake them for UFO's and NEVER before?

Just saying.

Manu "relieved" to have UFO sighting explained. The Red Bull AF? "I’m a curious man," he said. "I don’t like to be in doubt about stuff."

Matt Bonner: "I don't know the allure of skydiving with flares, but it must be fun."
