I'm not so crazy about the whip cream though.

I was talking about the Starbucks bottled kind...was always too self-conscious to order a real one.

Mmmhmmm. Yeah. I always favor a nice cup of "semi-warm" chocolate during cold wintery days

I've had the frozen ones a couple of times and they are very yummy. And on a stick.

You should try it :tu

Did you mark it on your calender or what? :lol Or did you just open up a time capsule that was like:

Dear Future Me,
Tried a frappuccino today. Not impressed. Just a coffee slushee, but they are charging five bucks for them.

And the one served at starbucks is way better than the bottles variety. Minus the whipped cream of course.

The blended frappuccinos are delicious. Especially if you have them throw in an extra 2-4 shots of espresso (depending on frap flavor) and skip the whipped cream.

Exactly and yep. I don't know which version is mislabeled but the one at the shoppe is the better of the two. Unless it specifies on the bottle to pour in blender with ice and blend. Anyhoo. Slap a Starbuck label on anything and people will buy it as long as it's te right shade of brown.

The bottles are waaaaay too sweet. I hate energy drinks, though, so they come in handy when I really need something quick and caffeinated.

The bottled ones are simply iced coffee. And yes, they are too sweet.

The bottled ones, I think, are actually Starbucks' frappuccino formula with a hint of crappy iced coffee thrown in. Basically, a bottled version of what the baristas put in the blender when making a frappuccino. The extra espresso and commercial grade blender make all the difference in the world.

Honestly I haven't stepped foot into a starbucks ever since I got my stovetop Bialetti. Well, maybe for dessert. The Bialetti and a good frother is all I need.

I hardly go to Starbucks, but the frappuccino craving does pull me in occasionally. Or, given the season, the peppermint mochas.

Yup, or I just order espresso.

When I first bought a drink from that place, I had to go home and wash the hipster off me.

Is it worth it to try the real thing? If so, where should I go...the local hipster cafe or Starbucks?

It's basically a blended iced coffee with espresso. The frappé from McD, I believe, is the same but quite a bit cheaper than Starbucks. But yes, the bottle is not a fair representation of a frappaccino(or frappé).

Don't know why, since real hipsters wouldn't be caught dead in a Starbucks.

You can get a blended coffee anywhere, but Starbucks is the only place you can get a frappuccino. TM. And, personally, I think they taste different/better than the ones I've gotten anywhere else.

by name, yes. McD's has a Frappe which kinda borrows from the whole frappaccino moniker. Don't let the high price sway you.
