Can we get our balance back in the NBA forum?..

I'm usually one of the defenders of the NBA forum, but it has become really bad in the last month/month and a half or so..the banning of DOK and M>S has had a part in it, but it's also due to other factors..

I usually dislike message board elitists that complain about trolling, so I'm not trying to do that..I don't care about the trolling that we've seen here for a long time..this "new" trolling is horrible though..it's lazy and repetitive..

Posting the same quote a 100 times in a row isn't trolling, it's just annoying and spams the entire board..trolling is supposed to be clever..this forum was great at working good shticks that were entertaining and clever, to balance everything out..now, it's horrible shticks and repetitive shit that just spams the forum..I'm not pointing any fingers, but it's not the former "regulars" here that are the culprits..

I obviously love the trash talking, since I'm usually in it..nothing wrong with the "lol" threads..nothing wrong with feuds and whatever..most of the threads are horrible now, though..

1. Lakaluva posts a stupid thread about the Spurs or whatever..everybody knows he's going to do it, we all know what he does, we accept it, he's good at it..

2. Spurs fans make a retaliation thread that serves no purpose at all, it just takes up room, it has the same content as Lakaluva's thread, making it pointless..it doesn't affect him at all, he's getting what he wants, he wins in the end..

It's pretty much going to be the death of this place, sadly..an example of a good "troll thread" is Mono's last thread about his 4lokos..it led to random, entertaining discussion..that's pretty much how all the troll threads used to be..

The exception was the calf tats shit, but that usually stayed in 1 lane..now, pretty much every thread is a copy of the "calf tats" threads, with no balance whatsoever..it's all uncreative, horrible schticks that serve no purpose and don't provide any entertainment or quality..

Hopefully, everybody can help clean it up, at least to the level it was at last year, or a few more of us will be added to the retirement list:cry..

Perhaps if you come around when the plunger is stuck in the heat ass and not hide when it hurts...then your words would carry more weight...Don't hide and then come talking shit when it's convenient.

to be fair, I don't think it's the mav krews disappearance, it's more like in the last few months, we had numerous amounts of stupid Laker fans signing up in the boards. TheMachine, Lakaluva, and even Kool_aidman were one of the main Laker fans that annoyed people, but it seemed like we balance it out with other posters. now we have a bunch of laker fans that decided to join after the Lakers won the championship (Quit hatin', History2b, other stupid Laker fans) I think they are bringing the quality of this forum down for sure and it's hard to handle all of them.

I'm usually one of the defenders of the NBA forum, but it has become really bad in the last month/month and a half or so..the banning of DOK and M>S has had a part in it, but it's also due to other factors..

I usually dislike message board elitists that complain about trolling, so I'm not trying to do that..I don't care about the trolling that we've seen here for a long time..this "new" trolling is horrible though..it's lazy and repetitive..

Posting the same quote a 100 times in a row isn't trolling, it's just annoying and spams the entire board..trolling is supposed to be clever..this forum was great at working good shticks that were entertaining and clever, to balance everything out..now, it's horrible shticks and repetitive shit that just spams the forum..I'm not pointing any fingers, but it's not the former "regulars" here that are the culprits..

I obviously love the trash talking, since I'm usually in it..nothing wrong with the "lol" threads..nothing wrong with feuds and whatever..most of the threads are horrible now, though..

1. Lakaluva posts a stupid thread about the Spurs or whatever..everybody knows he's going to do it, we all know what he does, we accept it, he's good at it..

2. Spurs fans make a retaliation thread that serves no purpose at all, it just takes up room, it has the same content as Lakaluva's thread, making it pointless..it doesn't affect him at all, he's getting what he wants, he wins in the end..

Yep. It's been awful since the trolls started to propagate and the threads that actually wanted to talk hoops stopped getting as many responses.

I'd like to point out that when someone like yourself leaves the NBA forum, it makes it very difficult for that forum to recover. We need MORE quality posters here to outnumber/deal with the trolls. The more people that actually put effort into their posts that leave, the less chance this forum has of returning to quality. Stick around... maybe it'll get better if more people follow your example.

This. All posters here, new and old, are responsible for the current state of the NBA Forum. If you know a thread or take is shitty and lame, don't respond to to it and it will fall to the next page...it's pretty simple.

IMO the Lakers winning the title the last few years has hurt the board. Laker haters are trying to come up with anything and everything to troll Laker fans so they can mask their team's shortcomings and inferiority, and an influx of Laker fans feel the need to defend the team. Look at all the threads (going back pages and pages), and that's what you'll see. We're all guilty of perpetuating it.

If the NBA Section got a moderator, I certainly don't want to be considered. As much time as I do spend on messageboards, I don't want to deal with the headaches involving keeping things in order. And to be honest, I'd pretty much leave things as is because I think everybody has the right to post whatever the fuck they want, troll however the fuck they want. The only things I would moderate would be obscene pictures and egregious spamming/flooding. And those aren't the only problems we have. The bigger problem is simply thread and post quality, and that sure is a hard thing to moderate effectively. That's why we're all accountable.

I think the the spam of random wikipedia entries, pictures, etc is the perfect counter move to a Lakaluva (or any other unimaginative) troll thread. It makes the thread unreadable, killing it before it ever had a chance to get started.

Lakaluva has become incredibly predictable lately. Every thread he starts is about Tim Duncan and every reply seems to insult the Spurs, even when the topic had nothing to do with them. That lack of creativity and imagination deserves a crapflood derailment. When Luva was in top form, I had no problem bantering with him and playing his game. So Duncan surpassed in scoring one of the most Chicken Shit Centers In NBA History in Captain David Robinson.

In light of this, the 1st question posed by Koolaid is whose scoring feat is more impressive and why?


Duncan scores 20,921 in 13 seasons with 3159 assists along the way and since the Spurs basically have only a couple of ‘elite’ players in it’s history, the only player he really had to surpass was David chicken shit Robinson for the honor. In all-time NBA scoring today Duncan just barely cracks the top 30 in scoring while Kobe is number 12 all-time and getting ready to pass John Havilicek within the next 2 games for the 11th ALL-TIME spot.

Side note Kobe will be 6th all-time after this season.

Kobe on the other hand scores 26351 in 14 seasons ( with 4861 assists) and surpasses the current NBA Logo in Jerry West, along with a number of all-time great players ( such as Kareem, Magic, Wilt, Shaq, Baylor, etc). Now since it’s holiday season let me be generous…I will subtract Kobe’s rookie season numbers ( 539 points and 91 assists) to make the number of years even with Duncan , Kobe still outscores and assists Timmy by a universal light year.

The 2nd question is:


If Kobe is as selfish as Spur fan says then why is it that as a shooting guard ( whose job it is to shoot the ball) all-time Kobe has close to two-thousand more assists than Timmy Duncan. That’s right almost two-thousand more assists. Now we can understand why Timmy trails in points but surely with all the shooters Timmy’s had in his career and as a big man with his great passing ability and likelihood of double teams one would think that Duncan wouldn’t trail Kobe as badly as he does in assists.


I conducted a non-biased poll and at an almost 20:1 ratio people said it should be much easier for a center to rack up the assists.
Therefore the final question and answer would be:
