I'll be producing tonights Spurs vs. Hawks game for the NBA. I'll be talking with Manu.

So what questions have you been begging to ask him?

I'll report back tomorrow with the answers.

The main question I have is how his health is holding up? Anything that seems to be a problem at this point in the season? thanks

Paul,

There have been a few recent reports about Manu--his discussion of the placebo effect with George Hill (reported here (http://www.48minutesofhell.com/dejuan-blair-double-double-against-76ers)) and his scoffing at superstitious responses to his UFO sighting (see this video (http://www.nba.com/spurs/multimedia/101210_ginobili_shoot.html)) -- that would seem to indicate he is of a generally rationalist, empirical mindset. I have been wondering if he seems himself as a contrast to the general culture of professional sports, which is usually characterized as full of superstition and emotional interpretations of events.

On a side note, it's really neat of you to post this request for questions. Thanks for the interest.

Ask him if he is mentoring Splitter since they both went through the same transition from Europe to the NBA under Pop.

Do you consider taking a back seat similar to what TD is doing if the second unit continues to develop to save energy to the playoffs? Would slowing that a little alter your preparation for the post season?

How he believes Tiago is adapting and Pop to him too?

In the pre-season, you got to draw up a play versus the Clippers. If you were the Spurs' coach for a day, in addition to the various screen/roll options you have, what offense would you like to run?

"The ankles feel great and I have not felt this good in a very long time. Pop has been watching my minutes so that I can stay fresh all year long."

When his playing days are done, would he ever consider coaching or the broadcast booth?

It would be fun to see him in the studio with Barkley.

Ask him what they'll have to do and the personnel he believes needs to be played to get the team back to playing championship-caliber defense -- how important a role does he believe Tiago has to have for this team when it's all said and done?

Thanks (and the truth is out there).

Thanks! I look forward to the answer. Is the interview going to be televised, or will you just be posting the results online?

Ask him if there is anybody in the NBA that reminds him of himself OR if he's seen anyone else try any of his Manu maneuvers.
