Trade rumors are swirling around Landry of the Kings.
The disaster that is the Kings is causing all kinds of rumors. First Whiteside gets sent down to the D-League and Cousins is kicked our of practice by Westphal. Because this guy cannot even figure how his own team, the fire Westphal rumors are starting to come up too.
I would love to have Landry back on the Rockets. He can go back to playing the sixth man role he had last year. Much like the Antonio Davis role behind starter Dale Davis who played alongside Rik Smits. Battier can be Derrick McKey and is the glue guy. In Kevin Martin we have a poor man's Reggie Miller but at least their stats are similar. Brooks/Lowry can be the point guards and they are better than Marc Jackson/Ricky Pierce was of the Pacers. Yao roughly equal to Smits when he comes back because of injuries and conditioning. A fully healthy Yao would be better than Smits.
Key is to get a healthy team together for the playoffs, if we make it. I still think we will but everything depends on a trade and if Brooks and Yao can make it back soon. Would be nice to get Cousins too.
Meanwhile, Sacremento is flailing away. I can't see that franchise getting any better no matter what trades they make. They have one of the worst 4th qtr offenses in the NBA.

I said the stats were similar not that they were the same player. Reggie could play defense. Kevin Martin not so much.

Carl landry is the perfect Spur. Hopefully he will be in uniform by the end of the year. :toast

Landry is up for whatever team gives the Kings the best deal. I were them I'd sure try to deal him now for some pieces because if they wait, his contract expires at the end of this season and they get nothing for him.

Well they get some cap relief but that's about it. Landry then is then a free agent to go to the highest bidder. Too bad that during a contract year he played himself to the bench.
But that maybe more Westphal's ineptness as a coach than Landry's capabilities.

He could flop (on offense and defense), but he was NOT a good defender by any stretch.
