Rasho would never fit in in Phoenix.

Its hard to say in some cases and easy in others. But still, last year ho took elbows to the mouth by shack. Who plays best help D. I guess he would stay till shaqs retiers.
Its like a fail-safe like brown has with Camblesoup.

I don't think that Rasho can play the Suns style; he'd be a bit part, used only when the Suns' style of play couldn't overcome the presence of a dominating big. Meanwhile, Johnson is a kid with tremendous upside and a game that fits perfectly in the style that Phoenix wants to play.

It's a bit like thinking that the Spurs would trade Manu for a limited player who might fill a "need" that the Spurs have.

Who the fuck wouldn't trade rasho for JJ?

You think the Suns would give up Joe Johnson?

Rasho cannot play the suns style basketball, running back n forth isn't his thing...they don't even use a center.

The only reason the Suns would go for that deal is if the coach of the year decided that guarding the paint might actually be a good idea. Hell, with Nash playing the way he does Rasho could just chill down on his end of the court and let the other four guys play offense and he'll guard against the fast break. It might be wise for the Suns to trade Johnson or Jackson for a legit defensive minded center. Otherwise it will be the old Mavs in a different time zone.

ducks, I was finally able to understand something you wrote, and it still doesn't make sense! This trade would never happen.

There was some talk IIRC about Johnson for someone like Dalembert, but I thought the Suns decided that they couldn't get value-for-value in dealing Johnson for an available big.

This is the inherent beauty of ducks. If nobody can understand it, it's awfully hard to ever be called on a contradiction.

In a league that doesn't have many skilled post players around 7' tall the Spurs are at an advantage because they have three.

Rasho isn't a bad player, and if the Spurs make it to the next round I could see him being more important against Shaq or Detroit.

Is he worth his contract? Tough to say.

The Suns would never trade for Rasho. They want an athletic PF/C type of a player, like Dalembert, Swift, and so on. And I'm pretty sure that the Suns want to hold on to Johnson. I'm predicting that they'll trade Quentin if they have to.

The Suns don't need Rasho, they already have Jake Voskuhl.

And Johnson is a restricted free agent, hard to trade those kind of players.

/\no kidding.

I feel bad about even lengthening this topic but damn, can we at least save the trade Rasho conversations until AFTER the postseason?! You haters need to at least wait that long so that you can see him earn his pay check in the Finals series.

Would you guys trade crack smoking ducks that thinks the Suns are going to give Johnson away for nothing, repeatedly, for the ducks that knew Jason Kidd would be a bad signing?

I would.

ducks
05-26-2005, 05:27 PM
jason kidd would have been a very bad signing

barry could play backup point and his d would fit in with suns

chances of rasho going to suns VERY SLIM THOUGH

I dunno Ducks, are the contracts even close? And Phoenix seems to have good bigs --Hunter, Outlaw, Voskol.

I actually thought Ducks had some idea of the value of players...

Obviously I was wrong. Is this worse than suggesting Dalmbert for Rasho??

JJ is on a rookie deal that expires at the end of the year. It would have to be a sign and trade and it still would never happen.

this is a pipe dream of mind to get joe
I see alot of suns games due to living in az
joe is the real deal
much better then q
I can dream he can wear the spur uniform
also suns are going to need a backup that can play 10 minutes or so soon for nash
