shit, where do I begin. First of all, I've never actually "cried" over a movie but I have teared up a whole lot, very close to the point of crying

HAPPY and/or INSPIRED CRIES: Hoosiers, Rudy, Braveheart (which holds the record with 3 different occasions; the scene with Wallace's best friend and his dying father, the FREEEEEDOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!! scene, and the very end as they charge)

the only sad cry I've had for a movie was the ending of Gallipoli. tbh that cry was easily the most tearful out of all of them

The most embarrassing one that still gets me (regardless of how many times I catch it on one of TBS' weekend-long marathons of it) is the scene in You've Got Mail when Meg Ryan's waiting for her internet love interest in Central Park that she's never met, and then she sees Tom Hanks chasing Brinkley over the hill and that's when she puts it aaaaaaall together. I don't CRY, per se, but I get tha fucking biggest knot in my throat.

Besides that, any movie that Mel Gibson loses a loved one in (Braveheart, The Patriot) or even when he THINKS he lost someone (Ransom scene on the balcony after the gunshot on the other end of the phone line).

Can't remember the name of the movie, it's about this guy who was falling for this kind of outcast girl who was dying of cancer. Throughout the whole movie she keeps telling him don't fall for me but in the end he does, and stays with her till the end where she dies. Saddest shit ever, partly because at the time the girl I watched with had a scare thinking her cancer could have possibly come back. Anyone help me with the name of the movie?

That, "Where the Red Fern Grows" and "The Plauge Dogs".

I should of taken notice why an animation about dogs "The Plauge Dogs" was in the drama section and was rated PG-13. We all watched it as a family, thinking it was going to be a feel good movie. My mom, 2 brothers, sister, and I were balling at the end and even my dad had shed a tear.

Put that on your netflix cue next time, it's a really good movie. Haven't read the book though.

Shit, a ton of movies, tbh--maybe not straight up bawling, but tearing up, hell yes.

--I Am Legend: when Will Smith's character's dog dies and he goes begging the manicans to talk to him

--Forrest Gump: that damn scene with Gump talking to Jenny's grave gets me every time

--The Burning Desire (Movie about the Bonfire tragedy/1999 football game against texas): Hard to watch that without tearing up, whether you're an Aggie or a Longhorn--still tear up whenever I see the video of the LHB's tribute that day

--Saving Private Ryan: shit, several parts of that movie, but the most memorable for me was when Damon's character was talking about the last time he was together w/ his brothers (I guess 'cause I'm really close w/ my brothers)

--Toy Story 3: yeah, it got me lol

--The Climb: 2002 movie about two mountain climbers. Pretty heavy-handed on the Christianity angle (that was it's target audience anyway), but there's one climactic scene where the two are buddy climbing a mountain and one gets buried in an avalanche. The other guy frantically trying to get him out and realizing the futility of his efforts is a real tear-jerker

Never have seen Old Yeller, but I know it's reputation lol

Probably a ton more that I just can't think of right now, but there's just some scenes that your heart's gotta be made of stone note to be touched by them, IMO.

I've cried at City of Angels (when she's hit by the truck), Saving Private Ryan (tell me I'm a good man), and the heart-attack episode of Roseanne. Dan Connor had been through so much as the bread-winner of Roseanne's family and when he talks to his daughter, who is about to be married, and says that she should change whatever she wanted to change (from her upbringing) it is emotional and culminates the loss of the bike shop and the things Dan Connor couldn't do for his family. It brought me to tears when I saw it for the first time as an adult.

LHB tribute to the victims of the Aggie Bonfire collapse in 1999--poor video quality, but I don't think it's necessary to convey the emotion of that afternoon. One of only a couple times the Longhorn Band removed their hats in respect, I believe--their highest honor as a band.

One of the few halftimes Aggies everywhere will readily admit we "lost"--but I think Texans everywhere came up winners that day.

Hachi-did pull on those heartstrings pretty fuckin' hard, didn't it?
Hachi...what an actor!

There are quite a few...but this one here got me pretty bad...

Shadowlands...with Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger...

The background to this scene is that this kid's mom (D.Winger) has just lost the fight with cancer...

Hopkins played the part of C.S. Lewis-the great writer who pretty much thought he was above all sentimentality...as he was a man of great, great intelligence and his writings always sort of- minimized suffering, pain, etc...(or at least explained suffering in theory)

Also his writings on spirituality and god always seemed to be full of true insights and understanding of the human condition.
Until he fell in love with D. Winger and all of a sudden...he wanted something pretty badly-other than a great career, education, fame,etc...

Hopkins had also lost his mother at a very young age...and in this scene, after being very strong and composed throughout the movie, he has to comfort the young boy who has just lost his mother....

I defy anyone to not be affected....

Your posts for their innate ability to not inspire laughter and said emotions that accompany funny.

On a serious note...

Pay It Forward was one of the few that made me tear up. I would also have to say one from my earliest childhood memories was Empire of the Sun when they killed his friend. Land Before Time is another one that I can remember off the top of my head.

Never seen that movie but many of my friends say it's the saddest movie they've ever seen.

And I'm always that douchebag in the theatre that finds a way to laugh and make fun of every scene no matter how sad it is.

Kind of want to watch this movie to see if it can get even the most heartless like me to choke up a little

Something has to give, imho

I would say the only parts that really try to invoke that emotion is at the funeral of his dad and brothers, when the little girl and small william lock eyes for a while and she gives him a flower at the end.

And also, of course the literally tear throbbing event of "freedom william freedom" -------> FFFRRrrEEEEEEeee---DDOM!!:depressed

I've got to admit that it depends on a mood but I even cry on a strange scenes. And mostly about relationship with father or parents

It could be meaningless, like I'm changing chanells and there is some comedy series. They sometimes put there some 'sad' kinda moments. Or moments that kids are gratefull to their parents and that parents do care about kids.

Crying don't have shit to do with being a man. Of course these bitch ass niggas cry all the time.

Of course a close minded, wanna be troll-fool like you missed the point completely again. She said "real-men" so, you posting on this thread is a blatant disregard for her wishes.

Second, she's not saying real men have to cry in movies. But some men do cry, and if you did, man up and post what it was you cried about in a movie. Being a wuss and not admitting you cried in the movie is not being "man enough".

Most the people in this thread obviously were "man enough"

As far as "Lakeluva"? the jury is still out.. :nope
