View Full Version : Face it, the Heat are now good

Yes, they haven't played any good teams. But they haven't just beaten the teams they have played, they've gone back to their houses afterwards and got all Kobe on their wives and/or girlfriends.

Washington, Detroit, Cleveland, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Utah, Golden State, Sacramento.

We expected these guys to blow shitty teams out in the regular season and win plenty of games.

Beating Boston would be a tall order with that laughable front line but I wouldn't really be surprised if they did either. The question is if they can matchup and beat the Lakers in a 7 game series; to which I answer: hahahahahahaha

Shaq, Mourning, Payton, and some refs helped make that possible. Ilgauskas and Dampier are over the hill and no low post presence. Miami will go down to Boston.

Yeah...no. They are on a winning streak beating shitty teams, big fucking deal. I'll just reiterate that they have absolutely no post game or post defense. Their perimeter defense is pretty sick, I'll give them credit, but they're going to get bullied by the better frontlines out there.

Not a Heat fan but Lakers are no lock for getting out of the West. Right now the Spurs or Mavs both are playing at a superior level to the Lakers and are deep and talented and unless Bynum comes back stronger than before - 4-5 are right there with them in the West.

the only impressive win they had during their streak was against utah..

the next big game they have is against the mavs on december 20th...and they looked poor against us a few days ago..i don't think the players only meeting fixed the lack of depth they have inside...

still will be a good game...could be collision of a 15-game-win-streak (mavs) and a 12-game-win-streak(heat)..

We all watched them get beat down by the Mavs a couple weeks ago. While Dallas may not have the aforementioned "star power" of the Heat, they are working really well together (ie, chemistry) and have a competent PG and center tandem to combat Miami.

A PG is not their problem. Chalmers is fine and is actually a good defender who can hit the 3. Wade/Lebron handle the ball. Miller will as well. They are all very good play makers.

Why do you keep bringing up 2006? When did I say anything about 2006? If you want to keep it in the here and now, let's do that. Everyone sees the Heat beating up on chump teams, as they should be apt to do. They still don't match up with the big boys in the NBA and don't have the build to do so as presently built. Who gives a fuck where they rate in defensive efficiency at this point in the season? We all seem to recall a LeBron Cavs team from last year that ripped up everyone in the regular season and faltered because they weren't built for playoff-style basketball. Now you add Wade to that - another guy that needs the ball to be effective. How is that going to be any more effective when it matters most?

IMO Spurs main concern is being able to keep the level of play they are playing at now throughout the playoffs and not getting gassed. Mavs just don't have a reliable second option, mainly a slashing guard. I think the Mavs will fix that via trade tbh.

For the teams with the best records, the Spurs main guys are playing extremely low minutes. I'm not really worried about them maintaining as far as getting gassed, but Spurs have a lot of guys playing well and the defense needs to improve.

They have plenty of weapons though.

The Heat have made big strides since the Dallas game. No more offense consisting of nothing more than isos, Wade and Bron finally learned to play off each other moving without the ball. However that doesn't mean they're a lock, there's more work to do. The hate for the Heat is amusing.

the teams that are scary right now are the celtics, mavericks, and spurs.

talking about winning against tough competition, dallas has beat the celtics while they were unbeaten, the hornets while they were unbeaten, and then again when they only had one loss, and the spurs while they were red hot, and swept the 2 against the jazz (1 at home and one in utah.) they look like the team to beat right now.

the heat schedule is about to get a little tougher. lets see how that goes.
