Got some info from someone who spoke with the VP of Yates Construction Company who told him about a new project to be built across from the Dome in SPS.
It will be a highrise loft tower that will stand 32 stories (between 320-370 ft).
This would put it as tall as the Marriot Rivercenter.
It is supposed to break ground sometime during the first quarter of 2006.
Also being built in St. Paul Square is a new Staybridge Suites. Staybride will be building a 13 story tower at Sunset Station. This 109 Suite Hotel is expected to be completed sometime in 2006.
As Iget renderings I'll post them.

I spoke with the VP of Yates Construction Company about a new project to be built across from the Dome in SPS.
I designed a highrise loft tower that will stand 32 stories (between 320-370 ft).
As you may not know, this would put it as tall as the Marriot Rivercenter and we plan to break ground sometime during the first quarter of 2006.
I'm also going to build a new Staybridge Suites in St. Paul Square.
I cannot wait to see my 13 story tower at Sunset Station as we expect to complete this 109 Suite Hotel sometime in 2006.
I'll post my renderings later.
That's great man! :smokin

I wonder if Ticket 760 can get N'Sync to do a PSA on something like that. :lol

I thought that the Marriot was taller than that.

The marriot riverwalk is 38 stories. It's in the 400 foot range of height and the reason the official height is 546 is because of the spires.

Lets look at it this way.
The Towers on Park Lane (http://www.thetowersonparklane.com/images/pic_large/8.jpg) are 28 stories tall and 368 feet tall.
The tallest building outside of downtown, also the third talking building in Texas outside of a downtown.
The new loft highrise will be 32 stories. Depending are how high the floors are, this building could go past 400 feet in height, not including a spire or antenna.

According to this site it 545 ft as in structure.....stories have little to do with acutal height because each story on different bldgs are different.

compare this building to it....

It is fewer stories yet taller in height than the Marriot.

Maybe 3000 steps, but not 3000 feet. That's over half a mile.

Who cares. It will be another Hotel and one that I will not be able to afford, just like the Watermark. :flipoff

EDIT: Wrong thing.
The new 32 story will be a high rise loft tower.
Not a new hotel.
It'll be a residental highrise.

The Tower is 440 feet from base to head.
With the spire it comes out to about 545 feet.

What ever happened to Sheraton hotel that was proposed?
The Sheraton Convention Center hotel was all go but was then scraped because of 9/11 and the original proposer backed out.
The city then had to ask for new proposals and finally we have arrived to where we are now.
With a Hyatt Convention Center hotel set to start construction in June.
