Game 7 2011 NBA Finals Spurs vs. Celtics

Spurs lineup-Tim,Blair,RJ,Manu,Parker
Celtics lineup-Shaq,Garnett,Pierce,Allen,Rondo

Spurs 88 Celtics 86(Celtics Ball)

Last play of the game 24 seconds remaining and the Celtics take it from out-of-bounds. Rondo dribbles up the court. He passes the ball to Pierce. Rj playing stellar defense forcing him to pass the ball back to Rondo. Time seems to be going slower than ever for Spurs fans around the world but their is still 9 seconds left. Garnett sets a screen on Ginobili for Ray Allen. Allen comes running out for a wide open three. He shoots with 7 seconds lefts as our hearts sink and are eyes track the ball through the air. Oh please miss... please miss. He misses and Rj is about to grab the easy rebound...and then dumbass Blair comes over Rj's back to get the rebound and knocks the ball out of bounds. Celtics get the ball back and Ray Allen wins the game with a buzzer beating three.

That's of course exactly what Blair did at the end of today's game. He jump over Udoka's back and knocked the ball out. He continuously takes rebounds from his teammates and bad things will occur.

He loves to pad his rebounding stats. Just like Finely wanted to preserve his fg% by never taking a shot at the end of a quarter. For as long as this continues I will never be a Blair fan. Quite frankly I have to wonder why any of you like this type of player.

Blair wouldn't be in the lineup at the end of a game 7.

Bonner has a better chance. Sadly.

Dice is definitely the one along side Tim closing out a game like that.

Wouldn't it be amazing to send Dice out with a ring?

Come on, we all know it would be a small ball lineup ;) Duncan, RJ, Manu, Hill and TP.

Oh and to address the original post, I'm not sure that it's a bad thing that Blair instinctively goes after every rebound that he sees. He might "steal" some from teammates, but I don't think it's to pad his stats; it's because he can't contain himself.

If we played the C's than Blair should be on the court every minute that Big baby is on the court and nothing more. Dice/Duncan can handle KG/Shaq

Agree with everyone here that Dice would be the one out there in a huge crunch time moment like that...

I think Big Baby is Celtics man along with KG at the end of the game. I think Blair being in the end of the line up is a great possibility in this game. BUT George Hill would be on Ray Allen, TP on Rondo, and Manu on Pierce more likely.

You know the Spurs are doing well when the biggest complaint is a ball out out bounds at the end of another blowout victory.

Nice of you to ignore all the useful things Blair has been doing in recent games.

It's stupid nonetheless....with that much experience, there's no excuse to not know when to lay off from trying to grab every board. The attitude and effort he has in rebounding is great from a coach's perspective, but when you take it too far and try to out rebound your own teammates, dumb shit can and usually does happen.

this is assuming the Spurs don't trade RJ, Blair, Beno and the rights to Scola for Carmelo Anthony.

Kinda reminds me of the character John Favrau played in The Replacements when Hackman would get him all revved up:

Jimmy McGinty: [stopping Danny before he runs on the field] Danny, I need the ball.
Daniel Bateman: You need the ball.
Jimmy McGinty: I need you to get me the ball.
Daniel Bateman: I'm going to get you the ball.
Jimmy McGinty: [starts shouting repeatedly to rev Danny up] Are you gonna get me the ball!
Daniel Bateman: [shouting back repeatedly] I wanna get you the ball!
[then runs on the field]
Jimmy McGinty: I hope he doesn't kill someone.

That's what I'm thinking too with Bonner and Dice substituting on offense and defense depending on the matchup. IMO, pop would force Doc to take out shaq by using the hack a shaq strategy throughout the game. Splitter would only see time if there's foul trouble or if Jermaine O'neals cropse makes it to game 7.

That's why it's important for the Spurs to maintain their current pace and secure home court advantage throughout the post season so we only meet one of them.

Dice would probably be in during crunch time.

I don't know - Hill doesn't do well running around screens (chasing after Allen). I almost prefer Parker doing that (similar to 05 Finals game 7 against Hamilton). Pierce is a problem - too big for Hill or Manu. Hopefully, RJ is playing well & guards Pierce, then Manu could be on Rondo.

Blair plays center and Ime plays (or tragically tries to) small foward. Blairs supposed to grab that board.

I think people are missing the fact that the OP is a major Blair hater. This post is just another weak attempt to troll up some support for his anti-Blair agenda.
