Bogut

I know that you already know the answer to this one.

Bogut is the best big defender excluding Dwight Howard. He draws charges, plays good post defense and is an incredible team defender. His shotblocks mean something because he keeps them in play. He is an elite rebounder.

He is a real handful on the block with his ability to use either hand and his stats don't show it but he is an excellent passer from the high post and out of double teams.

If he could just stay healthy, he is one of the most effective bigs in the entire league. Oh, his teammates learning how to throw an entry pass would help too.

And this time, I mean all the ">>>>>"

Bogut is more polished at this point. Still he and Bynum are both injury-prone.

Bynum.

He got Kobe teaching him how to win. Bogut's a scrub who never made the playoffs.

Yeah, doesn't really matter as both are walking hospitals... Which one is cheaper?

Bynum.

With that logic, Kobe taught Pau too. Why not Bogut also?

Great basketball talk. Definitely Bogut. As far as the center position goes, only Dwight Howard is a better 2-way player than Bogut. No other player comes close to being a complete package at the C position. All other 28 teams would want Bogut as their starting C, if he would manage to stay healthy, freak injury or otherwise.

Then make them switch fucking places let's see who's fucking better. I mean are you brain dead?

The only advantage Bynum has is his man to man defense in the post .. Bogut is better defensively in all other areas .. weakside shotblocking.. drawing charges and overall team defense.

Bogut's too scrubby. I could tell he wouldn't listen to Kobe's teachings.

Pau is smart, but was a choker before Kobe taught him to win rings.

Bogut is more polished and slightly better currently, but it's close as is and Bynum has the higher upside, so I'd go Bynum.

If Bynum were healthy and on most other teams, we'd be looking at 20/12/2.5 per game.

the only thing i'd take bynum is a burger king meal when he's in hospital.

are you fucking serious? bogut is one of the most focused players in the nba. just because he looks like a smelly hippie doesn't mean he is one.

Bynum is a better post scorer, too IMO..he actually has a pretty wide repertoire of moves, and obviously his physical advantages are superior to almost any C in the NBA..he's a black hole though, obviously..

I think Bogut plays harder then Bynum. If Bynum actually showed some more fire then I would pick him but I like Boguts effort better.

Kobe didn't rape. The courts proved it.

Until Donut wins a ring, I can't take him seriously. He aint got the championship experience Drew has.

Good discussion. I would take Andrew Bogut over Bynum, without a doubt. Reason is his defense. As many have stated, he is a great two-way player, second only to Dwight. Bynum definitely has his pros but I feel his cons outweigh them. While Bogut is somewhat injury prone, he's not missing half the season every year like Bynum. Ultimately, I think if you switched their places, the Lakers would be that much more dominant. A frontline combo of Bogut and Gasol would be a nightmate matchup for almost everyone in the league from an offensive and defensive standpoint. The Lakers have enough offense without Bynum so a defensive center of Bogut's caliber would make them a lock for the championship, especially against a team lacking any post presence such as the Heat.

12-14-2010, 08:31 AM
All this injury prone talk is pretty laughable, in all honestly, when Bynum has played every playoff the last two seasons (soon to be three).. something Andrew Bogut can't claim.

brock_lobster
12-14-2010, 08:37 AM
That makes a great load of difference, seeing as how Bogut doesn't play with two of the top 10 players in the league, got injured before his first playoff berth last season (and he didn't just get out of bed and hurt his knee like Mr. Glass) and is the best player on his team. Just because the Lakers trotted Bynum out there on one knee to plug up the lane for 10 minutes a game doesn't matter. Are you really going to argue that Bynum is not injury prone?
