@johnhollinger Tiago Splitter out w/ "right abductor contusion." Judging by where Ilyasova's knee hit, that's putting it gently.

OUUCHHH!!!:(

That's a paralyzing injury. Not serious, but it just saps the strength out of your leg. If he really took a solid shot in the abductor (rather than the man-ductor) he'll be 3-4 days before he can change directions quickly.

Mentioned this elsewhere but pretty much for a contusion usually around 2 days or a week. If it were a severe contusion/strain looking at weeks. So a week of rest at most.

its not a serious injury is it?

No, it's not like a groin strain. Those damned things can take a long, long time to get over - and they get re-injured a lot.

Tiago took a knee in the inner part of his thigh. I thought it was just a testicle shot. But they say it is an abductor injury. The abductors are the muscles that pull the legs together. So basically its an inner-thigh bruise.

But I can tell you from personal experience that it can make you feel like you have absolutely no strength in that leg. You can't just ignore the pain if it's a deep bruise. Your leg will just go out on you. If it really is a deep abductor bruise (I don't know that) he won't be much use in Denver. But he should be fine for the next one.

Fucking posters on this site.. I swear.

All this "fuck pop" is insane. The Spurs have the best record in the NBA but it's still fuck pop all over this board - spoiled fans. Bonner has his ups and downs just like every other player on this team and while he pisses me off a lot of the time he's obviously doing a lot right. Pop is putting us in the best position to win and guess what... it's working.

You and I know that :lol:lmao. He is not clutch at all nor a big time player, the time he makes a big shot in a big game will be his first! I know the Boston game where he did but other than that there? He is horrible on D and a great shooter in games that don't mean shyt, then when it matters he melts and just misses.

People...it's the Right ADDUCTOR. Not Abductor muscle.

You're correct. The adductor pulls together, and the abductor pulls outward. I have a mental block on those two. Always have. A lot of people seem to.

I think they called it abductor. I assume it is the adductor (the one that pulls the legs together) because of where the knee hit him. Regardless of what they called it.

Splitter is our future, it's obvious. All these "Fuck Pop" posts are bullshit, because we added him not for only this year.

Splitter is not an alternaive of Bonner, because his mid-range jumpers are not a threat for opponents and he can't shoot three. Splitter is an alternative for McDyess and when McDyess will retire next year he will get his place. But he also should improve his mid-range jumps.

That's why if you're going to fuck Pop, you should do it for playing McDyess instead of Splitter. If you're OK with McDyess, then you shouldn't fuck Pop.

actually, tiago might have played this evening due to his familiarity with nene. and he was set to play some of that 3rd quarter last night, in addition to what he had played in the 2nd, when pop noticed him lagging on plays. that is why he had dice off the bench and was calling for one of the spurs to commit an intentional foul in order to stop play.

Decent explanation for you "non-professional types"! (only joking as even sport medicine trained docs need to review this area such as myself from time to time) Based on the type of injury received it is more likely to be a Grade I to Grade II tear of one of the adductors than the abductors but is is possible to tear multiple muscles but if that happened he and the Spurs are in for a long rehab.

What Monroe does during the game?

Rookie center Tiago Splitter suffered a right adductor contusion when he was kneed in the right groin area as he jumped to defend a drive to the basket by Ersan Ilyasova with 2:56 remaining in the second quarter.

He did not play in the second half.

So who was the guy with the #22 in the 3rd quarter????
