Forwards

Kevin Durant (Thunder) 470,881
Pau Gasol (Lakers) 390,808
Carmelo Anthony (Nuggets) 369,768
Dirk Nowitzki (Mavericks) 264,301
Tim Duncan (Spurs) 247,364

Kobe Bryant (Lakers) 722,682
Chris Paul (Hornets) 386,649
Manu Ginobili (Spurs) 230,137

Tony Parker (Spurs) 103,238

I don't think manu can catch up kobe and paul, but I could see duncan going up a few positions if we start all voting for him one last year.

The question is, is the streak worth enough? Or it would be better for Timmy to rest those days

It's up to you, to us

Can Timmy be voted in as a center?

Looks like Manu and Tony will have to hope the coaches put them on the second string.

Manu will be an All-Star, if not as a starter, then the coaches (except Pop) will vote him in ... and TD really hasn't All-Star numbers this year, we'll have to see if he gets a boost in votes during the last weeks before the ASG ...

I think people fail to see how important it is to a player to get a streak of All-Star selections. I bet Tim will be bummed out.

Blake's already just 2k votes shy away from having more votes than Duncan :wow

Although basically all individual NBA accolades can be shit on, especially all-star game ones, Duncan's streak says a lot about the kind of player he is (Top 10 GOAT) and that even casual NBA fans still vote for him despite being in a small market and getting nearly zero hype. He could also cement another point in NBA history, here's to bragging rights :toast

With our help Tim can be the starter.

C'mon people don't you have a heart? After all Tim has done for us?

I listened to another great story about Duncan during the Mavs-Blazers from last night. ESPN reported that Timmy called Brandon Roy and offered help on how to better cope with his knee issues. TD rules in every way possible :king

I'm going to keep voting for TD. I want the streak to continue. If Pop is the coach, he won't play him but a few minutes.

The voting for center is outrageous. They should let them cross-vote especially since Bynum hasn't even played 1 minute yet and Gasol has been playing center. That way more deserving forwards will get in.

If Manu keeps this up, the coaches will vote him in.

hilarious. ming has barely played, bynum hasnt played at all, and haywood has played even less than yao. Unless things drastically change in the next 2 months, Gasol should be the starting center and Duncan the backup, I cant see any argument against that.

If we still have the best record in the NBA, I could see TD getting in as a center. That list of C's is worthless. Manu will be a reserve at the rate he's playing.

Also, I think there's no doubt that Kevin Love deserves a spot on the team. He's been a beast putting up 20 & 15 every night. Unbelievable, even for a losing team. I was very impressed with his play in the 2 games we've had vs. the T'wolves.

Yeah, Ive said it before, he is such a great player but very underrated and unnoticed. It's a shame.

Guys, I'll tell ya what's going to happen.

Durant and Gasol are going to be voted in as the starting Small Forward, and of course, Kobe Bryant too. Yao Ming is going to get the votes as the Starting Center, by a landslide. But he is going to be hurt, and is not going to be able to play the game. So the next guy, Andrew Bynum, will get in. So Gasol, Bynum and Kobe are all starting in the ASG today.

That's my prediction, haha. But I'm gonna keep voting for Timmy and Manu, but even if they don't get the votes, the Coaches are definitely going to put both Tim and Manu in the ASG, even if they are both off the Bench.

In the West, Manu should be ahead of Paul and Dirk ahead of Melo. In the East, Amare should be ahead of KG.

I would like all 3 Tony, Manu and Tim to get in.
I know they can use the rest but i would like the recognition for a professional core that has achived a lot.
I am quite sick of duos (Tmac-Yao) and trios (allen-garnett-pierce) that has not achived the same and yet get more recognition from the NBA people.
Because if it was only the media voting i couldnīt care less, but this is NBA coaches who should recognize those who are good at ahat they do.

I'm not sure Duncan gets the weekend off even if he doesn't start or get picked by the Coaches. He's got adidas commitments and they always do stuff over All-Star weekend. Whether he plays or not I think he'll have to be there anyway. I'd prefer he get as much rest as possible however it plays out.

There's no chance Duncan doesn't make it. When you look at West centers, Duncan and Gasol are no brainers.

Unfortunately, as I and many suspected, his starting streak will probably be snapped. Even if Pop were the coach, he'd likely start either Gasol or Nowitzki, whichever is not voted in as a starter.

Anthony, Durant, Nowitzki, Duncan, Gasol, Bryant, Ginobili, Paul, Westbrook and Williams are either stone cold locks or perilously close to that. That leaves two spots, one for a big and one for a guard. In the back court, it's probably between Nash and Parker. Up front, it's probably between Chandler, Millsap and Odom. Parker and Odom should be the picks, which means it'll probably be Nash and Chandler.

I think no matter whether voted in by the coach or the fans, Duncan will go to the All-Stars game. Hence, lets make him a starter !

In addition, if Pop is the coach, we can be rest assured that Duncan and Manu will get minimal minutes anyway.

DMC

The All Star game is about like the dunk contest. It's all popularity, not skill or your game that year. Pau Gasol over Dirk? Really?

Kobe would be voted in even if he was in IR all year.

Until it's a coaches and press vote only, it's going to be a big WGAF time of the year.

Rest?

He will play 10 minutes in the ASG and sure he likes it. It will be more tired to do something at home or a practice.

All star game is a party, not a game. After the Finals is the NBA event most watched around the world and I'm not sure we are going to be in the Finals.

Timmy deserves to be in the ASG. At the end of his career it will be one more number to add to his legacy.
