""They went off the roadway at a high rate of speed, went airborne and hit the tree with the roof of the car," Redmond said this morning. "It wasn’t the road conditions; the road was fine. It was the speed. Where there’s the least amount of protection is the roof of the car."

Investigators believe alcohol might have been a factor in the crash but are waiting for test results for confirmation, he added."

Wow, tough break ... condolonces.

He was having a pretty good come-back type of season now he has to deal with the tragedy and maybe guilt?
Not his fault (obviously) but must be tough to know they died after watching him play ...

She wouldnt be at this specific game driving this road if he would still play with the sister...

But on the other hand if she was a general racer (and maybe potential DUI´er)....

Death threads are always filled with great takes. This being no exception. I wonder how many people will say "RIP, my heart goes out to his family" or some variation on page 4?

Stay tuned to find out.

Anyways, dying in a car crash would be the worst way of dying, among common deaths IMO..I'd rather get a disease or something, tbh..

Police: Willie Green's cousin was intoxicated at time of fatal crash

Published: Wednesday, December 22, 2010, 10:20 AM Updated: Wednesday, December 22, 2010, 10:21 AM

By The Associated Press (http://connect.nola.com/user/nolaap/index.html)

TROY, Mich. — Police say the cousin of New Orleans Hornets guard Willie Green had a blood alcohol level three times Michigan’s legal limit at the time of a crash that killed him and the basketball player’s sister.
Troy Police Lt. Bob Redmond says 27-year-old Ben Green’s blood alcohol level was 0.24. Michigan’s legal limit is 0.08.
Redmond said Green’s driver’s license had been suspended since 2004 when he was arrested in Detroit for operating a vehicle while impaired.
Green was driving before the Monday morning crash along Interstate 75 in Troy, about 15 miles north of Detroit.
Ben Green and 30-year-old Tamara Green died at the scene.
The pair attended Sunday night’s game between the Hornets and Detroit Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Willie Green starred at Detroit Mercy.
