WHEN VOTING IN THE POLL, PLEASE CONSIDER ONLY THE NUMBER OF GAMES AGAINST WINNING TEAMS (WASHINGTON GAME NOT COUNT).
7 of the next 8 are brutal, with only Washington giving us respite with a weak opponent.
3 of the 6 hard games are at home; however, the boston away game is on the second night of a back to back, as is the orlando away game.
We play 4 of the top 7 teams in the league during this span, record wise, and 3 of the top 4 (with us having the best record, of course).
I think going 4-3 would be acceptable, with us dropping in Boston, Dallas, and Orlando. Anything better and I am very happy.

4-3 sounds good though we're not gonna lose to Orlando. It'll be Boston, Dallas and Lakers. From there, another W streak again mid January.

Denver will want revenge... and Orlando is the very next night. Hopefully, Orlando will have chemistry issues (will they all be available to play?).
LA will be a big game, followed two nights later at Dallas.
I don't think we lose to the Thunder, but they will tire us out... and then we have Boston on the second night of a back to back.
I would put my money on 2 losses... but they could come to almost any team in that stretch.

I'm thinking 5-2. I would be perfectly happy with 4-3. Boston and Dallas will give us trouble in their houses.

4-3
I'm anticipating a loss to the Nuggets (revenge) and a win against the Magic (they didn't look good yesterday and are still working out their chemistry issues).
I actually think they'll beat the Mavs and drop games against the Lakers and the Celtics.

no way dallas beats em again, and orlando is gonna look like sa did last year with all the new additions and no time to integrate them. if the spurs have to lose any of them, its to boston and the knicks sneak one on us

5/2 or 4/3
I think either the Denver or Orlando game, but not both. (1)
I think either the LA or Dallas game, but not both (though both could be really tough). (1)
Maybe 1 of the last two - I think it will depend on record at that point, and I definitely think Boston can beat us. If the record is worse than predicted, or they lose to OKC or the Knicks, I think they'll be pumped for the Boston game.
It could go any way, really. But I think we win at least one of Bos/Dal/LA.

I'm not going to guess which games they drop, but that's one brutal stretch. Spurs are going to lose their top spot. I'd be more than happy with 4-4.

Welll.......
One thing's certain, by Jan 6th we're going to have a pretty good idea of where the Spurs are with respect to competing for a championship.
As an aside, I consider the Dallas game to be the most important one.

Missing Hill will be a big impediment; he is supposed to be out another 3 games or so.
That means he will be back for the hardest games; Boston, LA and Dallas, in that order.

It's impossible to drop less then two having such matchups

the funny thing is the Spurs have had a history of letting down against poorer teams then going on unreal runs against the league regardless of the competion. I am guessing 5 and 2 but it would not surprise me at all for this team to get insanely hot and run the table!

5-2. I am really hoping to beat LA, BOS, & DAL. This will be a pretty decent indicator of where we truly stand.

i DO NOT want to lose to Dallas...or the Lakers, or Boston. but mostly Dallas. haha.
With a lot of the Spurs points coming the way of the 3, not many teams will be able to stop the offense. The problem might be the defense against good teams. Also, injuries are always a day away.
Barring injury, and if Hill returns, I see the Spurs competing in every game. Winning is a toss of the coin, depending on whether the other team shows up or not.
Some teams just get red hot and it lasts long enough to bury the opponent in points, especially if it coincides with offensive woes on the the opposing squad. Just look at the 76ers game tonight. The Bulls win regardless, but not by 50 on any other night.
i'd much rather beat the Lakers and Dallas but lose to the Celtics, though I'd hope the Celtics would lose a few more games between now and then.
This ...
If the Spurs beat Dallas and LA, that means a hell of a lot more down the road than beating Boston. Ideally we beat all three, but that's a tall order. I would like to see the Spurs compete in all games, but Boston has been known to bury teams quickly like they did to the Lakers in the final game of the series a few years back.
i DO NOT want to lose to Dallas...or the Lakers, or Boston. but mostly Dallas. haha.
That's not just rivalry. The Spurs gain a game on Dallas that way.

As. Long. As. They. Beat. The. Mavs. >:[
The bullshit stops here though. If we tank this set, it's going to be tough for anyone to take us seriously. If we win all, we will be treated like the team to beat and games become even harder. Still, I cannot pick a game I want the Spurs to lose.

Judging by the thread, Spurs fans feel that they're due for some losses.. Think we'll go 4-3 the next 7. Gonna be tough. We'll see how good the Spurs really are and where they're at.
Be shocked if they go more than 4-3..

I wouldnt be shocked either way. We are suppose to be a contender though, so we should be able to pull through a tough stretch.

Silly Troll :nope
I don't feel like anyone thinks we're due losses (the other team perhaps), but we all know that some of these wins are because the ball or a call came our way at the right time, or a shot fell that could have clanked. It's gambler's fallacy, but we all fall for it... we are bound to get a close one that doesn't go our way. I am OK with that if the other team actually beats us. Fuck giving it to them though.

So far, Spurs are 4-1; Boston is obviously the tougher of the two, and I expect the Spurs win at least 1 of the next 2, and to finish 5-2 at worst. If they manage 6-1 out of 7 games against all of the elite teams minus maybe chicago and miami....pretty impressive.

Chicago's a second-tier team, not an elite team. (a lot like OKC).
Well, Chicago scores well on Hollinger's power rankings, and they are 3rd in the east.
Anyway, we can wait until we finish with NY and Boston before looking back at our predictions.
I thought they would lose 2; hopefully I am wrong but they have to lose every once in a while...

Pretty good pick, they layed down for the Orlando game but otherwise have played well!

I know we've already lost one, but I'm going with 7-0. That's how good this team is. I think they can still pull that Orlando game out.
