View Full Version : Where to buy a case of Mexican Coca Cola bottles?

Anyone who has drank a Coca Cola from Mexico will agree it tastes better than any Coke from the US, especially if it comes from the classic soda bottles used in Mexico.
I heard that a store sold a case of 24 bottles of Mexican Coca Cola somewhere off Bandera Road, but I don't know where exactly. This place didn't want the bottles back, which was unusual since vendors want the bottles back for a deposit on new sodas.
Anyone know a place that sells these sodas? Hope to get a case for a Christmas gift. Thanx in advance!

No way. Its true but its because they make it with sugar and it comes in a glass bottle so there is a no aluminum taste.
We used to go across the border to get those by the case in the Valley. Don't know where to get them by the case in SA.

The store on Culebra right across from the entrance to Southwest Research Institute sells individual mexican coke bottles. The large ones too. I buy 1 almost every day.

Yeah, making the coke with cane sugar as opposed to corn syrup makes a HUGE difference.
FYI, HEB Central Market now makes a cola with cane sugar that is basically identical. you can get them at the Elan Market too...

They use sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup.

Yes, the glass vs. aluminum makes a difference too.

Yes, much like a rubber or latex dildo vs. a tar or puddy dildo makes a difference, too.

+1
I taught it was a myth too until I bought a case and it was well worth it!
The Mexican Coca Cola company still makes it with cane sugar, thus sticking closer towards the original recipe minus the cocaine.
I know where to get cases by the way!:hat

Oh man I remember the Mexican 7-Up from when I was a kid. I'd drive to the carwash and barbershop in Juarez with my Grandpa and they always had huge tubs filled with ice and sodas....

Fuck yeah! Mexican Sprite rules.
I just wish the US Companies would stay away once n for all from high fructose corn syrup. Why did they ever change the recipe to begin with? If it ain't broke don't fix it! It sucks that poor 3rd world countries have and enjoy better coke than we do.:depressed

I have seen the Mexican Coke-a-cola at Walmart at times. Probably just when they can get killer deals on it. It's not a regular stocked item.

Because import restrictions/tax policies make corn syrup massively cheaper in the US.

Wal-Mart/Sams have them, but they can be a bit pricey. I have been getting my cases from my neighbor who goes to Nuevo Laredo regularly for $20 a case.

It's because of the wimpy American gringo digestive system. It's like building muscles...if you want to toughen up your digestive system it has to work out. No pain, no gain.
BTW, Coca-Cola has the same sanitation policies in Mexico that they do in Atlanta.

Both Costco & Sam's carry it in Austin. $16-$18 range for 24 bottles. Last time I was at Sam's they also had Mexican Pepsi, although I've never tried it.

You can always special order them at HEB. Just ask the grocery manager to get with his Coke salesman to order them. But if that particular HEB doesn't carry them in their set, then you have to take the whole case.
Also, all the HEBs sell the HEB soda with sugar cane in them now. They have a weird after taste though.

There is indeed difference between coca cola's. It's possible for the Mexican coca cola to taste different. Coca Cola is delivered troughout the world as a extract, then local breweries all over the world add their own water, so for example some countries add sparkling mountain water while some use just ordinary water, that can make a difference in taste. Also with the Mexican coca cola they add cornsyrup and some say cane sugar.
In Europe there's difference too between the cokes. Macedonia seems to make the best Coca Cola in the world, as awarded by the Coca Cola company.

Thank you very much for posting this. I did call Sam's last week and they do carry 24-bottle Mexican Coca-Cola and Pepsi. $18 for the pack.
Doesn't come in a plastic crate, but just a simple cardboard tray all wrapped up. Many thanx!

That's how they ship out of the Coke plant. That's how we receive them from the Coke plant.
Again, you can always talk to the grocery manager of ANY HEB about bringing in a case so you can buy it. It really isn't that hard. I make special orders for people all the time.
