Sucks for him and his family.

If the Spurs win, don't expect to get any real credit for it from other fans or the media because the Spurs beat the Nuggets w/out Melo. Just saying. Oh well. I'll take the W either way.

Bad for the Spurs, now we don't have any reason to get up and play hard for this game.

Sad for Melo, too. That's awful, especially so close to Christmas.

Perfect opportunity for the Spurs to have a let down and the Nuggets to step it up.

I'm so waiting for this to happen.

Ready for the Nuggets to shoot 14 of 18 from 3 tonight.

I'm expecting a loss or a tight one now...

bad news for him. As to beating Spurs w/o Carmelo, if that happens, let us be honest: other teams have enjoyed similar "lucky" breaks so there is no reason to be ashamed (I should not use the word "lucky" considering the circumstances but I do not know what else to write, sorry)

Should be an easy win then. Trap game blah blah blah. There are much less trap games when you have an awesome record (want to keep it), are in a neck and neck race with the Mavs for 1st seed, and have young hungry talent like Neal.

Orl tomorrow will probably be a loss.

Nah. They are still integrating. They look pretty bad right now. However, all the more reason to put the Thugs away early.

Any word on Hill?

Congrats on the win tonight. I really thought the Nuggets had a chance to win a revenge game (they are good at winning those), but no chance without Melo

I just said it, we generally have a better chance of losing a game when one of the main stars are out on the team we play. :depressed

agreed...Cannot remember how many losses have come for the spurs when the opposing team is short handed over the years, hopefully tonight will be different. On a bigger note, I hope all the best for anthony and his faimly.

Clearly a jinx post. Spurs will play down to their competition in this case.

Sad for Melo. Hope we take care of business early and blow them out like we should. Our record is nice, but we are short on blow outs. I kind of like how we have the best record in the league but we are still under the radar. the media likes the mavs right now.

Carmelo Excused Following Death In Family

Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony has been excused from Wednesday night's game in San Antonio due to a death in his family.

"Our entire organization supports Carmelo during this difficult time for him and his family," Nuggets executive vice president of basketball operations Masai Ujiri said. "It is heartbreaking news, particularly during the holiday season."

imo it will be even harder to beat them now. We have to be ready. The nuggets will play even harder without him.

Spurs catching some massive breaks. This could be huge if the Spurs capitalize and allow the Big Three to rest in the 4th quarter in getting ready for what promises to be a tough game in Orlando tomorrow. Orlando will be ready and rested...and ready to win after a few losses.

Huge, huge break for the Spurs.

Sorry for the loss,

what sucks is our Luck, now the Douches can say they were not at full strength when we beat the Nuggets and minimize all we have done so far this season.

Hopefully we can start strong and rest the starters for tommorows game against the NEW Magic.

Sorry for Carmelos lost. I just lost my uncle three days ago so I know the feeling. I still hope the spurs win though.

Hey! We haven't won the game yet...

Billups is back, the shots Melo usualy takes will be taken anyway, they'll probably share the ball a little more, try to do a little more in every other areas and they'll probably be fired up because of last game AND for Melo...

If Pop tries too much to rest Timmy and Manu for tomorrow's game (as he already did on 1st game of a b2b) or if our 3 shot is off for example (2 "realistic" possibilities)...

I really don't see this game as an easyone...
