JR Reid
David Robinson

JR Reid starting is just amazing.

What a horrible organization to give David those stiffs.

Dale Ellis, what an overrated joke he was.

That's the game where the Spurs were eliminated when Barkley iso'd Robinson at the top and dribbled the clock down then backed David up and shot the dagger near the top of the key to win the game.

where is the hemisfair arena ?

It was the original home of the Spurs ("The Noisiest Arena in the NBA").

The moniker "The Noisiest Arena in the NBA" was self-proclaimed by PA Announcer Stan Kelly but I think that was subject to debate. Chicago Stadium and Arco Arena were both very loud, as was Portland.

What can we expect, we had a former drug addict as a head coach. We had Red who was a damn cheapskate, I felt bad for David for many years just like someone said glad he went out a champion.

The SBC center must be a nice yet quiet arena? I've never been there.

It's not quiet. Many of the Sonics were saying it's one of the loudest in the league. But nothing really compares nowadays to the old arenas.

If I remember correctly, JR Reid got the start only because Antoine Carr, their regular started at the 4, that year sprained his ankle in Game 4, and never returned in the series. Terry Cummings was coming off his knee injury the year before, and the only other big on the team was Larry Smith.

I had season tickets at the time, and was at that game. I know cuz I used to go to all the games. Unfortunately, I don't remember it. Too many games, for too many years...they all start to blend and blur.

Getting older prolly has something to do with it as well :)

Why do people like that guy David Chancellor complain that the fans aren't loud enough then? He was ranting about that yesterday.

He was saying that he isn't seeing enough people wearing Spurs t-shirts and putting flags on their cars, etc. I've seen quite a bit though.
