Gotta give the guy props on his acceptance of the bench role, and the way he has worked in the offseason and played this year. He has really developed a nice post game under the radar, and uses his unorthodox shooting style very well to be deceptive in his post game, especially since his release is so fast. The way he stepped up last night in place of Dirk really deserves some credit.

A lot of Mavs fans have been disappointed with him, but I'm extremely happy with him, especially this year. He consistently comes up with big defensive stops, big rebounds, hits crucial free throws, and has formed his game to fit to the Mavs offense, not relying so heavily on his athletic ability.

Doesn't get enough credit imho. His was easily the MVP last night. 10-15 shooting for 21 points and 9 boards. As well as great D on Durant in the clutch.

and irrelevant since he isnt going to be depended upon to do what he did yesterday on a regular basis, especially in the playoffs :tu

It will be relevant when the playoffs roll around and he plays off the bench :tu

tbh, his playoff choking ways predate the Mavs. As he humbled enough to take on a lesser role, maybe that's a role that allows him to be productive in the playoffs.

But Marion does usually blow ass in the playoffs, theres no denying that. He isn't depended upon for much offense, but in last years playoffs he didn't even give us anything. He was missing layups. Though Manu went off and him a couple times, he gave us good defense for the most part.

it seems as if everyone has turned it up a notch defensively. It all starts with Chandler of course, but him, stevenson, Butler, and Marion have instilled a nastiness on defense this franchise has never seen.

Like when they were all celebrating Chandler's block on Westbrook while he was writhing in pain on the ground. Sure they looked like classless jerks but I'll take that over the emo frontrunning pussies to which we've been accustomed too over the years :tu

Agreed. Marion sucked in all aspects last years playoffs. Not just offense.
