what happened? I heard G Hill got up in his grill or something....

Whenever there is a scuffle..the player who shows up after the episode is the tougher of the foe....so how did G Hill post scuffle?

Got a couple of steals and played GREAT defense against Kobe, pretty much shut him down.

Does anyone know if Hill grew since last season? He looks like he's around 6'4, whenever he stood next to Brown he looked as if he was just as tall or a bit taller.

You should get a copy of the game if you can and watch. There was some scuffles Kobe vs Hill... RJ vs Fisher. Artest horsecollared TP. Bynum took down Splitter.

yeah, I should've set my dvr before I left...or at least get the directtv application on my evo...that would be smart I guess...

I heard Bill Schoening say Hill's stat line wasn't that impressive, but he made an impact. Hill had 10 points, 9 boards, 2 steals and 4 blocks. That's pretty damned impressive to me. :)

Every once in awhile Kobe will bow up on a PG who is playing physical D. He's done it with Rondo, Raymond Felton and George. He must have forgotten how embarrassing it was to get two-pieced by 6'3" Chris Childs in front of all his teammates.

theres a quote in article released just after the game, on ghills input of the encounter with mamber
got the extract from another forum realgm gamethread

Covered by Hill in the second quarter, Bryant drew his third technical foul in three games when the two confronted each other under the basket. They continued talking back to the other end of the court.

“I just wanted him to know that you might be an NBA All-Star and the MVP, but I won’t back down from anybody,” Hill said.

For all that intensity, Bryant had a miserable night.

When it comes to Hill v Kobe, I rem the first time when Pop puts Hill on Kobe and the following article came out. Looks like the table has turned.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=jy-lakersspurs031309

In those tense final minutes, with the Spurs having clawed within two, Bryant looked across the court to see a rookie guarding him. His first thought?
“Bake him.”

Loved Hill's reaction. Didn't flinch, didn't look away, looked that arrogant prick right in the eye and basically said "I don't give a damn who you are, I'm not taking your shit and I'm not backing down". That's the exact mentality this team needs to have against the Lakers and sure enough, as the game went on, they seemed to adopt it.

I'm wondering why there was no turn over when Fisher takes the ball and runs to half court with it? Traveling? Illegal inbounding? Something.

I think the Spurs would take the technical over the turnover. One point is better than none. Also, I don't think there was an inbounds in progress at the moment. It was a dead ball situation.

Looking at the reply it looked like Hill was boxing out and Kobe got pissed and threw an elbow and a punch that did not connect to Hill. Actually Hill was lucky cause that elbow was thrown with mean intentions and could have done serious damage had it connected. The league shoud review!

Kobe routinely gets pissed when other players are allowed to get physical with him, and he's not allowed to penetrate at will.

Ironically, he simply gets horny when women disallow the same.

I think this has been asked before, but I don't think Hill is only 6'2. Kobe's a legit 6'6 dude, and Hill looks like he's shorter by around 2 inches.

I've always assumed Hill was around 6'4". I've seen him stand next to 6'6" guys and is only around 2 inches shorter. I loved the intensity of this game. Hill getting into it with Kobe, RJ not taking Fisher's bullshit. Good stuff.

In this picture his shoulders and his neck are at the same height as Kobe's ones but the key is the heigh of the head.

The height of the head is not important to play basketball but it's use to measure your height.

Hill could be 6'2 but his body is as bigger as a 6'4/6'6 player.
