Rotoworld is quoting the same

Kevin Garnett limped into the Celtics locker room on Wednesday after injuring his right knee -- he is having X-rays and the team has requested a wheelchair.
This looks like a massive blow for the Celtics, though right now it's listed as a "lower right leg" injury. Garnett also appears to have hurt himself while jumping, as opposed to landing, which doesn't bode well. Glen Davis will play monster minutes if Garnett is out for any length of time, and he's worth scooping up where available. Keep your fingers crossed for KG, who has played brilliantly this season.

Garnett hurts right leg in 1st quarter vs. Pistons (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-celtics-garnett)

Kevin Garnett has left Boston’s game at Detroit with a right leg injury.

Garnett grimaced as he threw down a dunk late in the first quarter, then immediately started limping when he landed, favoring his right leg. He made it back to midcourt before intentionally committing a foul to stop the game.

He was able to hobble off the court but was limping badly by the time he got back to the locker room. He was taken for X-rays and is not expected to return to the game.

Garnett had surgery on his right knee in May 2009 after missing all of that year’s playoffs.

That's the same knee that he hurt in 2009 and had been bothering him ever since. Kevin did look like he got his spring back in his legs this year, but that looks to be ancient history now. I thought that he'd been going to the rim too strong and expending too much energy doing so. His knee obviously agreed......

:depressed:depressed

FVu41PubfZ4

Edit: Found video of the first injury to that knee and included him jumping for an alley-opp pass. It's basically the same injury and that means we're probably not going to see K.G. for the rest of the season.

UPDATE 8:45 pm: Comcast New England is reporting that the X-rays came back negative, meaning no fracture, but he will have an MRI back in Boston on Thursday. The X-ray results are a good sign that this may not be anything long term. Garnett will not return to this game.

Other reports of media who talked to Boston players said they don’t think it was as serious as it first looked.

His reaction and favoring of his other knee (as he lands) are almost identical to the previous injury. Boston media and players are probably trying to be optimistic at this point. His season is probably over, IMO.

It looked to me like instead of taking the pass and dribbling in stride to the hoop, he did a stop/hop in order to dunk off of 2 feet. Kind of weird move, in that there was a sudden stoppage of motion, perhaps that's where the damage was done.

This is why LeBron and Bosh are smart men.

Kevin Garnett pissed away his youth playing for a terrible organization. Even if you are overrated, if you bully your way to play for a legit franchise, like Kobe did when he shafted the Hornets to get to LA, you win rings and your time in the league is well spent.

Imagine if he had been in Boston when he was 25. Could have gone been placed a lot higher in All time Top lists and have more championships... it's just sad because I really like KG's game, even though he has been acting like a dumbass the past 2 or 3 years.

idk about that scroh

I think at worst they'd be in the Finals every year and maybe even sneak out a championship over SA or LA one time.

Have to give you props here ...you have been wrong on some stuff. But that call and the turn-around by the heat you have been correct about.

the thing that would bother me if I was a Celts fans is the fact that even the younger players like Delonte and Rondo have been bit by the injury bug. It's tough to see them maintaining their favorite status (which I would say they have been along with the spurs so far this season) if injuries keep cropping up like this.

The Spurs by comparison have had the SAME starting lineup all season ...if that luck holds up, bodes well for the Spurs chances ata Finals run ...
