We really don't have much of a midrange game, and it shows when we can't seem to get anything going. Makes me think of how well Mike Mitchell would have fit in on this team.

Why is it so hard for the Spurs to find a big that will, if you give him the ball near the basket, automatically leap for a dunk? By instinct. Just roll to the basket, catch, leap and dunk.
Every team we play seems to have one.

The last seven halves the Spurs defense has held to 42, 38, 44, 38, 46, 47, and now 36.
Most consistent D we've seen all year this week.

Spurs play great defense, but the game also shows that back-to-back games hurt young teams as well (more mentally than physically). Looking at OKCs FG% one can only estimate that the did not have much sleep ...

People think I'm bullshitting, but I'm not. Ginobili's not just on a shooting slump, his mechanics are screwed up. He's still getting some shots to drop, but that's in spite of the stroke, not because of it.
He can practice shooting all he wants, but when the mechanics aren't there it's not going to change anything.

On our end, I'd hoped that with the emergence of Neal, and the eventual return of Anderson, we'd see some curtailing/conservation of Manu's minutes.
And then after a stellar 21 point outing, Neal gets 4 seconds. Pop's doghouse or infamous micromanagement strikes again?

WTF Harden
Harden really played like 6th man of the year in December (as weird as that sounds) ... Manu defended him well in the 1st half, therefore he was a non-factor today

Yeah, I'd do a Splitter for Ibaka trade. I'd like a hamburger and a beer for 5 cents as well.

In garbage time like this I feel like the ball should go through Splitter at least every other play. I don't want to see Dejuan practicing his jumper, I want to see Splitter in the post.

01-01-2011, 10:41 PM
We're definitely going to hand the Thunder their worst loss of the season. Their previous low score was 82.
Imagine if Splitter and Anderson finally gets acclimated to the team properly. 70 wins might be a possibility.

Great dunk by Blair and props to Ime for the pass. :downspin:
It's time for Spurs fans to realize that the team is playing legitimate defense now. The last 3 games (before tonight) they have given up 80, 82, and 93. And the Mavs only got over 90 because of garbage time. We're not blowing a lot of rotations like we did earlier in the season, and we still have guys getting a lot more steals than we used to.

Splitter always look better and better as the game progresses, this game is no different. I fully agree with Sean in that were going to need Splitters size and more importantly talent for the a deep playoff run.

Glad to hear that Manu is feeling much better today. Go Manu Go.
But he doesn't look OK to me at all.
I am really concerned about his energy, not his sickness whatsoever.
He seems to be flat out these days.
Great way to start the new year!
