Phil Jackson says this is his last year coaching — again (http://www.latimes.com/sports/basketball/nba/lakers/la-sp-lakers-fyi-20110101,0,3785070.story)
Jackson, 65, says he has 'put in my service time,' and doesn't see himself returning after this season.
By Broderick Turner
Los Angeles Times

...Jackson was asked again if he could see himself taking some time off and coming back to coach.

"No," Jackson responded quickly.

Why not? he was asked.

"I think I've put in my service time," Jackson, 65, said. "I think I've done my due diligence that I set out to do, especially with this organization."

...Jackson said he has "coached about as long as I want to coach."

Most ideal situation: This guy gets his ass swept in the PO's as a retirement present.

He'd be a fool.

He won't last six months at retirement.

PJ just trying to fire up the troops, sadly it won't work this time. Spurs just far too dominant, IMO.

Question for a serious Spur fan:

How many years will Pop coach after TD retires? I say he retires with TD. No trolling.

PJ has a lot of physical problems. When you are 65 years old do you really want to babysit people 40 years younger than you with mental problems or passive aggressive behavior problems (Artest and Kobe)?

Does he really want to put up with a clearly declining Kobe screaming at the role players when he can't bring it anymore? I say no.

While Phillip is a drama queen, he is also not stupid. He knows the Lakers window is closing and he does not want to be on board when the train runs off the tracks. Even the dim-witted Laker fan knows PJ has the type of ego where he would take solice that any Laker decline would not be on his watch.

{Then Phil shouldn't a come back. He'd walked away, cursin', cussin', talkin'/writin' out a school about Kobe. Then had to come back, skinnin', grinnin', shufflin', hat-in-handin', askin', beggin' Kobe to sign off so he could get next to that Bryant & that girl again.}

Hey, it's gets better than this= {} , but, hey, I can't cite it.

Pheel playing his retirement card again.

For someone who supposedly so intellectually, Zen-spiritually advanced and sophisticated, he appears to be a physical disaster.

Good luck to whoever tries to coach the Lakers next season....gonna need it.

But if there's a lengthy lockout maybe Phil will come back for another go-around after some rest especially if LA wins another god damn :lobt2:
