Absolutely not.

Regardless, they'd better win the last game played in June.

Woe be to them ifin' they don't.

No

Not a chance. They'll start losing their share of games. Even if they don't, Pop will start resting guys once home court is locked up. He isn't going to risk fatigue or injury to win some pointless regular season record.

No way. They are not even on pace right now, which means no chance in hell.

I think they are on pace to win 70, which still won't happen. Once we lock division and top #2 or #1 seed in west, Pop will save our big guys.

67 wins is my guess

to win 55 games total the spurs only need to finish the next 49 games with a 26-23 record.. that ain't happening.

Hell no. We've had a cushy schedule so far and have been extremely lucky from a health perspective. If they can beat 62 I'll be ecstatic.

And for once I have to agree with Cubby.

But if we go undefeated through the allstar game, I might change my mind

I think 64+ is VERY possible anything more that that requires a push of his key players that i dont think Pop would make.

Though I had no idea they would be THIS good .. I take pride in prediting this run from the spurs. I remember the dude with Kobe and the medals and trophies in his avatar telling me i was crazy for rating the spurs as contenders. In fact many Spur fans argued they were not true contenders either ... where are those fans right now?!

... Basking in the glory of being completely wrong. :lol

I don't think I am one of those posters who said that the spurs aren't true contenders, though I can say that the thought crossed my mind that in order for us to have a chance, there could be no mistakes, no missteps, etc.

It seems that I was wrong about that as well. We have lots of depth and we can survive an 11 point night from two of our big 3. It feels wonderful to be proven wrong in this particular case.

I don't care what our record would be, all I want is #1 seed throughout the playoffs and our team be fully healthy.

The Skunker is when the Suns beat ya flat during the '10 Playoffs.

Hahahah 72 games??

Fuck NO!

The most overrated team in the NBA!

Ah, then yes, this season so far does beat losing four straight to the suns, but even such a spectacular season means nothing if the LOB isn't handed to the team at the end of it.

Could they? Maybe, but probably not.

Will they? Definitely not. That's the last thing on Pop's agenda.

No. The Spurs will go from playing .800 basketball to .600 and finish with about 55-65 wins.

Gutter92
01-03-2011, 03:24 PM
We are, right now, .879 winning percentage

72-10 is an .878 winning percentage

We actually ARE on pace for it, but we won't reach it. We'll probably finish with ~60-62 wins.

VBM
01-03-2011, 03:28 PM
They'll finish right at 72. 56 in the reg season, 16 in the post-season.

Nope. Pop is too cautious to push his guys too much. Once they lock up a high enough seed, he'll start resting his stars...

BUMP.
01-03-2011, 03:58 PM
Spurs are too good for puny records like this. Let the Chokericks worry about that, spurs fans just worry about #5.

fundamentals>flash, he can't shoot threes, Boring=4 Rings, Duncan bankshot=class, Drive for 5, etc.

61. #1 Seed in the NBA. Lakers/Dallas behind us fighting for 2nd and 3rd with half a game separating them in the end.

Bleh.

Pop will sit everyone at 70 wins.

01-03-2011, 09:44 PM
No. I don't want them too. They won't have enough gas in the tank for the playoffs if they try to win 72 games.

01-03-2011, 11:25 PM
Nope... It's too early in the season to even consider this.. The spurs would be at least 1 injury away from dropping games.
Home court and getting to June is all they care about.. That's all.

8 games?

boston is not that far behind spurs

if boston keeps winning
it will push the spurs to not let their guard down
if you want spurs to win 73 games you have to pray another team is close and pushes them

I would rather win 16 games in postseason though
