Hurt Danilo Gallinari out 2-3 weeks

Associated Press

NEW YORK -- The New York Knicks say forward Danilo Gallinari is expected to miss two to three weeks with a sprained left knee.

Gallinari was hurt Sunday during the fourth quarter of a 98-92 victory over Indiana when Pacers swingman Brandon Rush lost his balance after driving for a layup and his right shoulder collided with Gallinari's knee.

Gallinari said after the game he didn't think the injury was much to worry about, and an MRI exam on Monday confirmed it was only a mild sprain.

The forward from Italy is fourth on the team with 15.3 points per game.

What a shame for Gallinari.

Another break for the Spurs. Wow.

Probably means more small ball with Toney Douglas. Heck, we may even see RMJ.

Yea I have a feeling we're gonna get some serious injuries around playoff time with all these breaks we're catching now.

I'm beginning to get super worried.

I guess I'm not the only pessimist around here...can't help but to look at the gift horse in the mouth at this point...

Or maybe this is just the flip side of the Manu/Parker/Duncan/Hill injuries we've dealt with since 2008.

This is payback for all the crap we've had to endure since 2007.

I was watching the game when it happened. It could have been a lot worse. The way his knee bent sideways was ugly. I told my son when it happened that I doubted he would be able to play against the Spurs.

Mason has only played in one game so far this year for NYK. Apparently he can't get out of D'Antoni's doghouse either.

duncan228 is kind enough to make game preview threads for you guys to post this kind of shit on. So, why don't you take her up on her offer?

I'm glad we're getting breaks. We already know the real tests will be the rodeo and a brutal March, why not rack up all the wins now?

Thank you! Just rack up the wins and build a lead in the division/ conference/ league and stay healthy! :toast

We suffered a lot the last 3 years. It's about time our team was healthy. This team hasnt even reached SPAM yet so we're not even 100% either.

With our luck in the past someone like RMJ will probably go off on us. I'm sure his 3 pt percentage for the season will go from .01% to about 40% :lol

Hate to see Gallo out though, he's one of my favorite players and I like the Knicks. I was looking forward to seeing him compete out there.

I honestly see New York having a hard time without Gallo, the main thing that kills us are three point shooters and he's their best three point shooter. Stoudamire's going to be hard to stop, but it allows us to put a little more focus on him and Chandler. I'm thinking Parker and Hill can handle Felton and Ginobili/Fields should be fun. Turiaf/Mozgov/Curry is something we've got to take advantage of.
