From ESPN Power Rankings...http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/britt_robson/01/04/power.rankings/index.html?eref=sihp

There is rarely a doubt that San Antonio will get the ball to the open man on offense and not leave an opponent open for long on defense. This is the signature style of the Gregg Popovich/Tim Duncan era and the dedication to fundamentals hasn't changed with the more up-tempo style, the aging of the stars or the personnel turnover of the second unit. Last week's Dallas game was inconclusive because of the injury to Dirk Nowitzki, but the Spurs simply took the starch out of the Lakers and Thunder, in a manner that can't be rationalized away. This was their "show-me" week after a relatively soft schedule, and the hosannas are rolling in. To avoid repetition, let me nominate Matt Bonner as this year's quintessential Spur. He knows his role -- space the floor by knocking down three-pointers -- and performs it expertly, yet also is an excellent team and individual defender despite his physical limitations, with good judgment and excellent hands. And he wouldn't be nearly as good on any other team.

Bonner!

Without Bonner where would the spurs be?

bonner's always a defensive liability; he's really just used for offense.

Hope not too often and only with his significant other outside of the three point line = we do not need a new generation of him in the gene pool!:married:

At least he has the decency not to rape like Neal, or, chase teammates pussy like Parker.

Nah, this dude is more interested in his sandwiches than both of those. Never said he was right of mind....

Hopefully his minutes will go down from here on out as McDyess' minutes increase heading into the playoffs.

His wife is decent looking and she was probably the first woman he ever had sex with. Probably the same with Duncan too. I'm betting both pretty much go straight home after the games.

Still refreshing to see a Spur not make The Enquirer, or, police blotter.

I wouldn't expect Bonner's minutes go south to much..15 minutes a night is fine by me (right now I think he's averaging just over 20)

He's averaging 22...so those extra 7 minutes going to Dice is about right. The biggest thing will be match ups. Pop has to recognize which situations set Bonner up to fail and which ones he's best in.

Bonner is just a traffic cone on the road of defense.

unfortunately this is a spurs fan myth. Last year in the PO mcdyess played all of 2-3 minutes over his RS average, despite two opponents he matched up with better than bonner. I wouldnt expect more than that for this year (unless injuries force pop's hand)

In the back of my mind I know this...and TBH I think Blair has to force Pop's hand more than anything. Him not playing well will almost certainly lead to Bonner getting more minutes than he needs.
