"It appears Chris Quinn and Ime Udoka will remain with the Spurs for the remainder of the season. Both players were still on the roster as of tip-off in New York, ensuring their veteran minimum contracts will become fully guaranteed on Jan. 10. Tuesday was the last day teams could waive players in time to clear waivers before the deadline."

Why Udoka, why?

PS: Apologies for the typo. Blame my fat fingers.

Good.

Udoka has been bad but hasn't hurt the team, it's not like he plays important minutes, and defensively has shown some decent spurts.

Quinn has been excellent for a 12th man...runs the system the right way, makes shots when we need em, never turns the ball over, stepped in for George and did a great job (that's what he's here for...if any of the PG's go down). Another case of Pop getting the best performance out of lifelong scrubs. 10x upgrade over Jacque Vaughn. Hell he's a 50x upgrade over last year's RMJ.

This makes me incredibly sad. Admittedly Chris Quinn is a solid place holder ala Jacque Vaugh, but Ime Udoka provides less than nothing right now.

Surely 'Corporate Knowledge' is incredibly overrated at the end of the bench. Wouldn't youthful exuberance help to lift the energy of the team and promote some sort of intensity.

I'd rather sign a common house cat than the likes of Udoka. A man whose presence in the NBA is an affront to rec league players everywhere.

Udoka will be switching chairs with Anderson soon so it really doesnt matter.

The deadline is on Wednesday not Tuesday. They aren't safe and can still be waived today.

I hope both stay. Both are good insurance policies and once Anderson comes back, Udoka should be in a suit. You never know how Anderson is going to be or if he re-aggravates that injury. Having Udoka is safe even though he is painful to watch at times.

I don't know what people expect from Chris Quinn. He's a 3rd PG. Are there that many 3rd PGs who are available, and that much better than CQ and who would come cheap?

We probably could have kept Jerrels for cheaper...

I don't mind either player staying on the roster. Quinn is fine as a 3rd PG in limited minutes and situations and Udoka is also OK as long as Pop doesn't put him in a bad defensive match up and if he never shoots the ball.

I guess I should have known better than to trust this article for accuracy...sorry for starting an erroneous thread.

Don't be so hard on yourself. There are plenty of "veteran" posters around here that are far and away dumber than you.

By the way, who's that on your avatar? Looks like either young Tom Waits or Ron Perlman, but can't really tell.

Bring up Marcus Cousin from the Toros at some point. Spurs need another athletic big as much as anything and this pre-season pretty solid player (per a post this week by me) impressed Pop and is putting up fairly good numbers on another wise relatively poor Toros team per 48 min.

Anyone with an educated guess on when they bring someone up from Austin or someone new altogether? With Anderson is that twelve?
