I know this may come as a suprise, but most guys in the league don't look too hot going up against Nash, especially rookies in the playoffs.

Thats no reason to be missing anything and everything. Its not like Nash is defensive powerhouse like Gary Payton circa 1996.

Beno is a rookie. How about giving the kid some slack.

:lol

If you can live with your backup point shooting 17-55 in the playoffs then you have pretty low expectations. Its not like Beno is making up for it with great ball distribution either. 32% shooting is bad by WNBA standards let alone the NBA.

Offensively, he didn't have it but he did a pretty decent job defending.

All things considered, this picture of Udrih is hilarious, dn0774

2 points for spurs in 5 minutes in first half
2 points for spurs in 5 minutes in 2 half

he needs to play about 4 minutes a game

If you can live with your backup point shooting 17-55 in the playoffs then you have pretty low expectations.

If we're relying on our backup PG who gets about 8-10 minutes a game to win them for us, we've got more serious problems than my expectations.

The only thing you want from your backup is to come in, give the starter a rest, and not completely blow it for your team.

I just think it's funny to say he sucks because he looked bad against Nash. Kind of a warped perspective if you ask me.

Beno has been pretty horrible in the playoffs. Although, he's been just steady enough to keep his job.

There's still time, though. He actually matches up well against Arroyo and the Pistons.

Beno has been pretty horrible in the playoffs

he had some good games VS Denver and Seattle, so I wouldn't say completely horrible or pretty.

Overall?? Bad yes, but I chalk it up to prob fatigue, being a rookie, and just overall inexperience.

Beno is a rookie and rookies tend to not play well in the playoffs. He isn't getting much time at the point guard to get his rhythm. The more minutes he plays the more productive he will get but 8-10 minutes is not enough time to get going for most players.

I thought Beno's defense looked pretty solid against Nash tonight.

He hit some big 3's in the Sonics/Nuggets series.

Rookie.

You're half right. Beno is a dear! As for the rest, stop hating.
It's Beno's rookie year and first ever NBA play offs. All things considered, he is doing extremely well. The mistakes Beno makes are from a lack of experience not a lack of effort. That's fixable. Give him a chance.

I like Beno overall and I thought there were times earlier in the season when the team played better with Beno than with Tony. That being said, whoever can say with a straight face that he has played well in the playoffs, please get at me because I want some of whatever you're smoking. I will say his defense has been pleasent surprise (especially on Boykins against Denver), but Beno hit over 40% of his 3's on the season and has only hit 5-27 3's in the playoffs.

Do I expect him to get 15 points and 5 assists? No. But I do expect him to hit wide open shots, playoffs or not. If thats too much to ask from a great shooter then sue me. Just cause I criticize him doesn't mean I dont like him. Quite the contrary actually, I expect him to play better because I know he can.

Honestly, I didn't think Beno looke bad last night, as long as he wasn't shooting. He's in a slump, that's all. A long one, yes, but he'll come around.

Beno is doing just fine and everyone needs to back off. Even with his Euroleague experience, he is a rookie in his first NBA playoffs and he's gaining valuable experience that will only make him better next season. As for the playoffs, his main priority right now is to give TP a few minutes of rest and play good D, which I think he has done. If he is able to generate a few points, it's gravy.

To me Beno's D last night was great , I vivedly remeber a play were he totaly stopped nash from making the shot he wanted and forced him to half hazerdly pass the ball.. that was great.

As far as everythign else, Beno is a NBA rookie in his 1st ever Playoffs. Hell most rookies don't get to the playoffs thier 1st year, never mind play.

Beno did great things for us during the season, and he's not our starter so i'm not pinning my hopes on him. there's no reason to b e Beno bashing.

This thing has been buging me since the begining of the season... i know it doesn't matter AT ALL now, but i FINALLY found that link i was looking for (i'm not really a computer guy..) and just wanted to post it.
Don't get on my back immediately, 'cos by that I AM NOT TRYING to say that beno is a better player or whatever... Neither do i have anthing against Tony, on contrary-i met him while i was in SA and he is A GREAT GUY!!!! Really, he's been more than great to me and while they were on tour we hanged out with his brother (kinda crazy dude...). So, don't get me wrong, beno has still got a lot to do before he can match tony, just wanted to point out it wasn't allways that way... :)

Yes, ObiwanGinobili he did play Nash well on several trips. For the betterment of word power, the proper word is haphazardly...just FYI.
