75% of the time I try to search for something that thing fucking glitches these days. It constantly will only give me back like 2 search results and then freeze. Then I have to reclick the search button only for the fucking thing to be frozen too.

Fuck Google.

it's not just the OP. It's been doing it to me too. usually happens when Instant Search is on. If I turn that off, it works better.

Google is pretty bad. Don't forget they sometimes re-direct you(intentionally) when you do click on a link.

Works fine for me, but I use Chrome these days. I was having all sorts of slowdown issues with Firefox.

Turn off instant search. It's a useless feature.

As others have already stated, turning off instant search should do the trick.

Gonna have to guess it's instant search like people have said, because I've had no such problems.

I havent turned off instant search and it works fine for me. I use Chrome too. However when at work (where I have FF and IE6) it takes FOR-EV-ER to load the actual google page (as in type "google.com" [enter] wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait)

Is Firefox as shitty on memory in Windows as it is in Linux? The other day I opened up an entire playlist on youtube in a bunch of tabs, and even after I closed all but a couple of them FF was still using 3+ GB of my RAM. I should probably file a bug report with mozilla, as that's ridiculous.

It's shitty on Windows and Snow Leopard. I quit using it entirely.
