I'll say it again it's been a good year for milestones:

Dirk passed Bird
Duncan passed (was it Bing or Bellamy?)
Pierce passed havlichek
Kobe nique and Oscar

We are blessed to be fans of any of these guys all-time greats and they are still playing effective and and important role on their teams.

Ya, I'm not a fan of Blake, but he's the only Laker that consistently looks to feed Gasol and Bynum, so they're much better off having him on the floor..

That's not how PER works.

By taking a small percentage of shots, making a good deal of them (which he does) not too many TO's, of course his PER is going to be good.

again im no stat guy but Bynum had a high number a couple seasons back the excat same way his PER was higher than tim's because Bynum was effective with his limited touches ...

I know ther is more (to PER) but if paul was more aggressive his PER would go down ...but they would not lose so many close games

and it's no big deal i hate QB rating too ...dont need it to see Brady is the best QB ...

CP3 doesn't have full strength in his leg to shoot over defenders. That's obvious compared to watching him before his injury.

Even with a bum knee, D-Will couldn't stay in front of him when the Hornets blew them out. He routinely drove past a heavier D-Will and setup open jumpers for his teammates. CP3 is still the best PG as far as playmaking, but he's not a scoring PG right now.

Lakers start 4 against 5, will betting on Fisher ever hurt the Lakers? Basically, it's Kobe + the front line + a bunch of stiffs. Still, I don't know who's gonna beat 'em in a 7 game series, I suppose the Celtics have the best chance.

Because he can't shoot off the dribble over defenders. His knee isn't at full strength. Teams adjust, put a taller defender on him and he has trouble, plus they have no one else to count on for scoring.

Chris Paul took 6 shot attempts tonight and was the lowest starting scorer

- West can only do so much and as usual did MORE than his part with 23 points and 12 rebounds

- Okafor again gave a solid effort with 13 points and 13 rebounds and good D

- Belinelli stepped up and hit some big shots finishing with 17 points

- TREVOR ARIZA AKA THE GLORIFIED DEVIN BROWN actually had a good game for the love of God with 17 points and 50% FG%!!!!

No one off the bench was worth a shit, but if Paul had shot the ball more and played aggressive the entire game instead of only in the final 3 minutes then maybe the outcome would have been different. The Hornets starters outside of Paul put up 70 points tonight ... can't ask for anything more than that.

Really? I'm all for having Paul shoot more, but if nobody else steps up, it will be just like the beginning of last season--Paul scoring 25+ on 70% shooting and the Hornets losing. The Hornets need contribution from the wings, and Thornton can give them that.

Get a good screener and he can get open. Belinelli and Ariza are basically providing all the outside treat right now, and frankly neither really intimidates.

the bottom line is that West, Belinelli, Okafor and Glorified Devin Brown put up 70 points tonight ... while Chris Paul took 6 shot attempts and scored 10 points. oh and don't give me that "assist" bullshit ... 90% of all assist are so terribly overrated in the NBA that its not even funny anymore. for every 10 assist, maybe 1 or 2 at the most were created simply because of the passer.

we played the Lakers tonight in their house ... there is simply NO REASON why this "elite/star" player should only take 6 fucking shot attempts. truth be told he doesn't want to be here and is just cruising through the season until we trade him at the end of the year. he is doing as little as possible and only being aggressive about 10% of the time.

son Mbenga has more heart and desire to play than the entire Hornets team combined.... and hell more than probably 90% of the entire NBA as well. I'm not joking in anyway when I say this ... I truly wish he had more playing time. at least he bust his ass and you can tell he actually gives a shit. oh and how fitting is it that he has a ring and most of these other primadonna's with a sense of entitlement through the roof don't ...

Again, I want Paul to shoot more. The team needs him to shoot more. But in the end, the bench will have to step up, or nothing the starters do will matter. Thornton is a part of the bench, and he can provide a spark. So when the opposing team is going on some 15-0 run, he can get in there and stop the bleeding.

BRHornet45
01-08-2011, 01:52 AM
I know we are all bitching about Paul's lack of shot attempts (myself included) ... but honestly the main problem is his lack of effort and aggressiveness. Go back and look at video from his rookie year and each and every year in between and then look at video of him now. its completely clear that he is halfass just going through all of the motions. Guaranteed contracts are the absolute worst thing to ever happen to the NBA (and MLB) ... if only they had contracts similar to the way the NFL has their system setup with only X amount of dollars guaranteed and the rest having to be earned through incentive bonuses. then I can assure you we wouldn't be seeing all of this lolly gagging around and halfass playing.

Damn that sucks that NO wasted a 50% shooting night from Ariza. Those dont come too often. Hornet starters played a lot better today then last weeks game in NO but 6 shots for your star payer is a little weird. Paul just doesnt look excited to play like he used to be. Maybe he's just mad that his knee isnt fully healed yet.
