Beso, the Las Vegas restaurant and nightclub at CityCenter owned by actress Eva Longoria and co-investors, filed for bankruptcy Thursday to restructure nearly $5.7 million in debt and other liabilities.

Beso LLC, 32 percent owned by Longoria, listed assets of about $2.5 million in the Chapter 11 filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Las Vegas.

The restaurant, which has a nightclub called Eve, projected ongoing losses of $76,000 per month.

What a crummy support system. About 85% of startup restaurants end up going out of business, so I'm not too surprised. :reading

Celebrities with millions always wanting to open clubs and restaurants...

The cynic in me can not help but wonder if it is a financial ploy meant to help her claim for spousal support.

If I had millions, the restaurant biz would be the last place I'd want to invest, but I guess folks should follow their passion. However, it does seem like opening a restaurant is default behavior for many a celeb and sports figure.

More fun eating at a fancy restaurant than owning one I would think.

I agree, the res biz is a horrible and highly risky business. I don't get why people insist on opening businesses after businesses if the risk is there.

She thought that she was popular and that her popularity would draw a crowd. Guess what...
