Most of those guys actually had to make some plays. Not everyone had the blind luck of piggybacking Shaq to 3, then having Jerry West orchestrate bullshit to appease them, then go 6-24 in a game 7 and be bailed out.

I went Fisher. Pretty lucky (albeit as a result of an unfortunate situation) he got out of his Utah contract to go back to the Lakers. One of the players listed has two Finals MVPs so not sure why he would be listed. Maybe if the question was about coattailing to 3+ rings.

Fish probably.. but then Kobe for sure.

If we cud change this to coattailing 3 rings Kobe would be THE undisputed winner. At least the second 2 he had a little more to do with it. The first three he was annoying, hell against Indiana in 2000 they won despite having Kobe not because of him.

After last year's playoffs, I can no longer talk shit about Kobe's rings.

The obvious answer is Robert Horry, and I'm not saying that because I'm a Suns fan. He hit some clutch shots in some big games, but he wasn't the reason any of his teams reached those big games in the first place.

True

But to be fair, Horry could have been an all-star if he kept playing as a SF

Suns, Lakers and later Spurs used him as a PF, but as a SF he had great potential

Bryant is the luckiest because for whatever reason, he gets a completely inordinate amount of credit for those three titles which Shaquille won practically by himself.

Have you guys ever looked up the stats Shaquille put up during the playoffs during that three-peat run? It's sick. Those were almost Wilt Chamberlain type numbers. I don't know what the MVP voting looked like for those Finals, butI'd be shocked if they were not all unanimous.

And even though he deserves some credit for the one in 2009, Bryant being gifted the MVP of last year's Final was a total travesty. He had a couple of decent games, but had the Lakers lost Game 7 (otherwise known as "Game 6-24"), Bryant's "legacy" would include having bricked his way out of a title. And he did this in a game where the Celtics were without their starting center and toughest interior defender. Gee, do you think a decent strategy might be to feed the post? I guess it didn't seem like a good strategy to Bryant.

In my opinion, Gasol deserved the MVP of last year's Final, and perhaps in 2009 as well. So to me, Bryant has "led his team" to maybe one title, but certainly not two, and most definitely not five.

Ya, For me it was a tossup with Kerr and Horry, maybe Fisher a 3rd. All of them made plays. I'd probably go with Kerr despite hitting that game winner from the MJ pass. Maybe he did more, but that's all I remember.

There's probably a game 7 between Spurs - Mavs in 2003 if Kerr doesn't go apeshit in game 6. But I think Horry offered more clutch shooting and more versatility on the defensive end.

Kobe for sure. All the other players listed (maybe with the exception of Pippen) are proven players that hit clutch shots to win or close games. The number of times Fisher has bailed Kobe out of deficits and close games are incomparable to Kobe's ability to lead his team to win.

Mr. 6 for 24 LOL for Bryant who absolutely sucked (except in rebounding) in game 7 vs the Celtics kind of like he sucked vs the Pistons and vs. the Celtics in their first series. Bryant rode Shaq's ass to three titles and now has grabbed on to Pau for dear life. It took a tip in by Gasol of a bad Kobe miss to even get past the Thunder last year! After DEFINETELY proving he could not lead teams as a solo superstar he is riding off into the sunset of his career (due to his knee deterioration) as the most over-hyped great player in history.

The below is right on!

Correct answer is Shaq anyone who mentions anyone else including Kobe is just stretching or trolling.

No Superstar has played with as much All Star/HOF players as Shaq.

Kobe
D Wade
Glenn Rice
Lebron
Nash
Garnett
Pierce
Allen
Rondo
Grant Hill
Penny Hardaway
Alonzo Mourning
Gary Payton
Nick Van Exel
Eddie Jones
Karl Malone
Horace Grant
Amare
Antoine Walker when he was still a useful human being

Mind you, all these players were at least in their athletic prime or peak or were at their productive state when they played with the big fella.

It's still mind boggling however that Shaq only has 4 rings. With that amount of help, he should be at least matching the great Michael Jordan.

I doubt it. Horry was lazy and had no work ethic whatsoever. Despite his physical tools year after year he came back with no improvement in his offensive or defensive game. He was very much content with coasting and being a roleplayer.

Neither could win a playoff series on their own. Gasol and Kobe need each other like bread and butter.

Daddy was also able to bring a ring to Miami, who were O-and-forever previous. Kobe doesn't have the sleeves to wear that kind of badge, always needing the coddling and advantages the Lakers franchise affords him.
