I thought he would be a decent pro, tbh. He's stuck behind Rudy Gay on the bench and will probably never see any legit minutes in the NBA, but this cat was a hell of a player at Pitt. He had range, could drive, and threw down some electric dunks. He was also great in big games. I had season tix his last 2 seasons at Pitt, and him and Blair were just a nasty combo to watch.

Would love to see him get some heavy minutes with any team to show what he's got. It's just hard to believe a player with his skillset offers nothing in the NBA

He was also pretty solid defensively...Jamie Dixon was pretty much an all-defense coach (echoing Ben Howland's schemes before him), so he could hold his own against various 2's and 3's. Blair is a good defender as well but he's in the unenviable position of being overmatched on a nightly basis against bigger 4's and 5's.

+1. I'm always interested in watching Pitt players, because of Dixon's defensive coaching style. Drafting guys from Pitt is a +, because Pitt guys coming into the NBA already know how to play D. As far as Blair, if he can develop a jumper, it will go a long way towards helping him compensate for his lack of height.

On draft night I wanted him before Blair tbh.. I was mad because I thought the spurs would be stupid and not choose Blair, but shocked me they did.

I was hoping the spurs would go after him but don't think he would be worth giving up a 1st round pick tbh

Probably suffers from that cliche "tweener" categorization. Built like a PF but doesn't have the size and length to battle legit NBA big men. Not quite quick or explosive enough to play SF consistently. Could be a good bench player in the right situation. I agree he was a stud in college. Probably should lose some weight and try to work on lateral quickness and explosiveness.
