Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum will get some of his money back.

Bynum was whistled for two consecutive technical fouls in the fourth quarter of the Lakers' 109-87 win against the New York Knicks on Sunday for arguing a foul call with referee Leon Wood.

The second of the two technicals, which carry with them a $2,000 fine apiece, has been rescinded by the NBA, according to league spokesman Tim Frank in an e-mail to ESPNLosAngeles.com.

I must admit, it's really disrespectful to rescind the technical and the fine.

I'm dumbfounded over the league's decree here.

Stern: Hello?
Ref: Hrmmm... hello commisioner
Stern: Yes?
Ref: I just... erm... I accidentally ejected Bynum
Sterm: You did what?
Ref: It was an accident... heat of the moment type of thing
Stern: WTF? The hell is wrong with you? Didn't you get the memo?
Ref: I did... it was a mistake...
Stern: Did the Lakers lose?!?!?!
Ref: Oh no... they were already cruising when this happened
Stern: Oh wow, you got me scared there for a sec
Ref: I'm sorry, Mr Stern
Stern: Don't do this to me. You were notified.
Ref: I know, I know... it was just a mistake...
Stern: Ok, we'll rescind the tech.
Stern: This is the last time I tell you: If it wears purple and yellow or it says Miami, you put a smile on your face and pretend the player is kidding.
Ref: Yes comissioner.
Stern: One of you fuckups already ejected Kobe early in the season and it cost me
Ref: Yes comissioner.
Stern: Don't make me have to suspend you
Ref: Understood comissioner.

I am disappointed that the NBA looked at the letter of the rule and not the spirit of the rule. I admit I stepped on the court, and that I should have had some more restraint, but Tim Duncan did the same thing but just not in such an aggressive manner. The rules are the rules, and I abide by them, and in that same vein, I think it would be beneficial for the league then to have also taken a further look at Tim Duncan, Stoudemire said.

This is actually pretty stupid, tbh..

Bynum made contract with the ref, he deserves 2 Ts, those are the rules..preferential treatment, par/course..

HH talked about preferential treatment in his post not too long after 21 made his post about you know, the same preferential treatment TD got when he should have been suspended for stepping on the court during a ruckus. Stat was spot on about TD - but of course the league turned a blind eye. Hypocritical, tbh, because if HH claims Bynum should have been suspended, then TD should have been suspended as well. Then the Spurs would have 2.61 titles instead of 3.61 (1999=50/82=0.61; + 1 in 2003; + 1 in 2005; + 1 in 2007 = 3.61 titles). :lol
