I encourage everyone who has DVR to go back and watch that play Pop called to get Duncan an open dunk.

It was 83-80 with 1:37 remaining.

Parker inbounds to Duncan, who quickly gives the ball back to Parker giving a soft screen on Parker's defender.

Bogut and Parker's defender close quickly on Parker at the top of the court, all the while Duncan has been running fast to the opposite end under the basket. Parker continues to dribble to the other side of the court, and Bogut's realized he's lost his man. By the time Bogut even realized what was going on, Duncan had the ball in his hands for an open dunk.

RJ and Hill rush to the top of the key to set two bodies on Bogut. All the bucks were only focused on their own man. There was a huge clusterfuck of bodies and Bogut could only watch through them as Duncan get his easiest score of the game.

Flawless execution by Duncan and Parker.

We did stop playing for a stretch there in the 4th quarter. Offensive execution went down the toilet after Bonner got hot for a little bit.

Spurs have usually played sloppy and lacked energy at times on back to backs this season and they did play sloppy again tonight for a lot of the game.

The D was a lot better in the second half though so that is a good thing. Bonner played a great game so I'll give him that. Any win is a good win.

Matt Bonner bailed them out tbh.

I didn't say they did, I said they turned up the D at the start of the second half, which they did, and that pretty much carried them to the win.

As for the idea that a player who gets hot "bails out" his team, isn't that his job? Also, Bonner got some of those looks off nicely executed plays.

Certainly not a complete game by our guys, but coming from behind with D to win on the 2nd of a b2b... I'll take it. It's what the team has done a lot this year, and shows how composed and confident they are.

Spurs are winning games, but in my opinion, they are not playing all that well. This has been ongoing for the last 10-12 games (as a whole overall). They are not playing smooth. They are not meshing (meaning with all of their best players playing well on the same nights).

They are playing good. It also says a lot that you can watch them play, get frustrated with their level of play and then realize they are winning a ton of games.

But from what I can see, the Spurs really aren't putting together many solid, full games.

Actually, that period in the 4th you're talking about, I remember then messing up one play and getting good shots which they missed on a number of others.

Anyway, as I said at half-time, this team always turns it up at one end or the other (sometimes both) in the second half when they need to, the sign of a team that knows how to win. Give them more credit, and work on your anger! :lol

aw man, how old are you?

I'd ask the same of you if you think she's beautiful. She's a plastic brunette barbie doll with a big nose. Synthetic does not equal beautiful, but you generally learn that in your 30s... ;)

Again ... the Lakers beat the Knicks lately and nobody else ... weak ass schedule

Let's use a take like your Milwaukee one. The same Knicks team that smashed the Spurs got destroyed by the Lakers. The same Amare that has been dominating every Spurs big man not named Tim Duncan the last 5 years got stifled by Bynum when the game was up for grabs.

Bullfuckin' shit.

The knicks had a red-hot night against the spurs...it happens once in a while...

against the lakers...amare struggled for most of the game -couldn't hit a shot until late in the 3rd qtr and the knicks were still in it...

Felton played the game of his life against the spurs and against the lakers the motherfucker disappeared...was a non-factor....knicks still had a shot until they faded late in the game...

the knicks were just ice-cold all night against the lakers...it happens...it doesn't mean shit...

the lakers (with bynum) got blown out by the spurs AFTER kobe PRACTICED and vowed to beat toughness into his teammates skulls...

stop sucking off the lakers already--it is getting pretty fuckin pathetic...

blair can be quite a beast when/if used against the right opponent at the right timeimho. its just too hard for triggas to make up their natural deficiencies imho. Boykins would be so much better than kobe if he were of a legit height.

Thanks for breaking that down with stuff I already knew. Waste of time even posting that. Sorry that you went ahead and typed that up.

I was using that example because he used the Bucks win over the Lakers by 20 points in LA to base LAs level of play on.

I just thought I'd show him how that can work both ways in making a team look really good or really bad by using the Knicks game as a similar example to what he used. I was trying to say that there is no way Milwaukee is some super team after they beat the Lakers by 20 recently and that is not why we struggled at times tonight because Milwaukee are not that good.

Spurs only allowed 33 points in the second half and it was the 2nd game of a back to back. Not bad.

Boykins circus shot :wow That really got the crowd going :lol

I love that 5 step travel by Dice for that last dunk...and no call right even though it was right in front of the ref. Gritty gutty Scott Skiles kept freaking out about it, which was amusing.

After Bonner tweeked his hamstring or groin or something Malik made a comment about him running "gingerly" down the court the next possession. Or something along those lines.

Another tough loss for Bucks at home
By Charles F. Gardner
Jan. 12, 2011

Another marquee opponent came calling at the Bradley Center on Wednesday night.

This time it was the San Antonio Spurs, a poised outfit carrying the best record in the National Basketball Association.

And the result was a familiar one for the Milwaukee Bucks: an agonizingly close defeat.

Manu Ginobili again had a big hand in beating the Bucks as the Spurs rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to grab a 91-84 victory.

The veteran guard finished with a game-high 23 points and seven rebounds and four assists and helped stymie Bucks guard John Salmons in the final 3 minutes after the Bucks had trimmed a nine-point deficit to one point.

"Defensively we were very solid the whole second half," Ginobili said. "We knew they were going to look for him (Salmons) on pick-and-rolls; he's a good player.

"We didn't blitz, but we really helped on him. They were lacking some shooters at that point, so we really collapsed the defense on him. Everybody was shifting so he couldn't see the whole floor or take easy shots."

The Bucks scored just 33 points in the second half after bolting to a 51-43 lead at intermission.

And the Spurs (33-6) got a huge lift from sharpshooter Matt Bonner, who scored all 17 of his points in the second half when he went 7 for 9 from the field and 3 of 4 from three-point range.

"He had a good game," said Spurs coach Gregg Popovich. "He played under control, took the shots that were available and drove it when necessary. He made one shot with his eyes closed at the nail (end of the clock)."

Popovich referred to Bonner's 15-footer with 57.2 seconds left that boosted San Antonio's lead to 87-82. The Bucks couldn't get any closer as center Andrew Bogut missed shots on their next two possessions.

Tim Duncan added 16 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots as the Spurs beat the Bucks for the fourth straight time.

Milwaukee (14-22) lost to the Miami Heat in overtime on Friday night in its previous Bradley Center appearance. The defeat Wednesday dropped the Bucks' home record to 8-9.

"It's not like you're going to start the second half and run away from a team like San Antonio," Bucks coach Scott Skiles said. "That may happen one out of 50 times you play them.

"But you've got to come out and make sound, professional plays. We just turned it, turned it (over). We stared down our teammates and threw it right to San Antonio.

"We still had our chances. We just weren't able to make the plays."

The Bucks committed nine of their 11 turnovers in the second half and shot just 31.4% (11 of 35) after intermission.

"San Antonio is one of the few teams, they don't have the peaks and valleys," Bucks guard Earl Boykins said. "They just play consistent basketball for 48 minutes.

"Tonight we didn't do that, and it showed. A lot of shooting comes from defense. We weren't able to get the stops. Every time down the court you're going against the half-court set. They're one of the best half-court defensive teams in the league."

Salmons led the Bucks with 17 points and Bogut added 15 points and 14 rebounds while playing 38 minutes.

"We had trouble getting him (Bogut) the ball a little bit," Skiles said. "We got him the ball enough in the second half.

"I thought he made some nice plays out of there. They were coming down and doubling him pretty aggressively. He moved the ball. We just didn't get anything out of it."

The Bucks held a 66-65 lead after three quarters Wednesday, but three-pointers by Gary Neal, Bonner and Ginobili helped the Spurs take a 76-70 advantage and prompted a timeout by Skiles with 9:04 remaining.

San Antonio extended its margin to 81-72 before the Bucks responded with a three-point play by Ilyasova and two baskets by Salmons, including a three-pointer, to make it 81-80.

But Salmons missed a potential go-ahead jumper, and the Spurs took control with a basket by Ginobili on a drive in the lane and a dunk by Duncan with 1:22 left.
