Why is the 1 vs 8 seed series still a 7 game series? There are no chances of an 8 seed defeating a 1 seed, unless the #1 seed is a terrible team full of chokers tbh...

:lol
Seriously though, ignoring the hidden agenda, going to 5 would obviously be a lot better, entertainment-wise..obviously..$ will be lost though, and the NBA is a league that prefers dominance over the underdog..

This would be great. Dallas would be able to go fishing one game earlier.

No the longer the series obvioulsly the chance that the better team wins. I would rather shorten the regular season 2 or more games than weaken the chances of that happening.

The same thing should apply to a 2 vs 7 seed.

:lol mavs
but seriously IMO it's BS that they made it a 7 game series. They did it to avoid upsets(of course make $ too). fuck that, if team is gonna choke let them choke.
the fakers would not have won the last 2 years had it been a 5 game series. everyone knows damn well they start very slow the playoffs and everyone knows referee whistle is more and more important as series progress.

it really should be the #1 seeds job to make it a 4-5 game series

no why shorten it? a longer playoff series allows for more chances for Bynum's knee to blow out

In 2003, eighth seeded Orlando took a 3-1 series lead over the Detroit Pistons.
