Suffers do something similar to this in the Houston shipping channel riding the wake of the super tankers passing by. There's a whole documentary about surfing. The name eludes me though.

Those dudes probably have to wear 1/4" wet suits with gloves and masks in that ice water. Bet they look just like big fat seals to the great whites and killer whales when they eat it...:lol
