...will drop again below the 39% mark.

Poor guy has a terrible unlucky shooting streak but well, we all know he will go through it :toast

He stinks offensively, but his defense has been winning games for the Hornets, especially tonight. His defense has transformed the Whorenets into a top team defensively.

He has been rebounding better lately too.

Ariza might play good defense, but he constantly misses wide open 3-pointers. He bricked two against Toronto and two against Memphis--all of them crucial shots. He makes me miss Peja Stojakovic so much.

Ariza does stink offensively, but his defense against Carmelo, Durant, etc has been great. I think his defense is more important than Peja's three-point shooting. If Thornton can get consistent minutes and score, that will negate Peja's production.

So someone telling him to stop taking them?

Peja added a 3-point threat for the Hornets, which made the offensive more dynamic and easier for Paul to work with. Ariza kills this team every time he bricks a 3, dribbles the ball off his foot or takes a fadeaway jumper (even though he isn't Kobe Bryant).

So someone telling him to stop taking them?

If only it was that simple.

Peja's defense was a big liability as well. Lucky for him he had Chandler watching his back. Last season without Chandler, the defense finally got exposed. Peja was hit or miss as well. Ariza's defense is consistent and the defense is why the team is winning. His defense will be huge in the postseason. The team needs Thornton to score consistently.

Only thing Ariza has going for him. There are a bunch of players that can play defense who cannot generate any offense. You'd almost rather have one of them instead of the turnover chucking Ariza.
