"If I'm going to be playing an extensive [power forward], I'll start getting down there and getting us some more paint points," James said after Friday's practice. "I spent a lot of time on it this offseason. Once I made the decision to come here and realized we had a low-post threat, I kind of backed off a little bit. With [Bosh], he's been our outlet. With him being out, I can go back to it. I just have to dust it off a little bit. It's no problem."

Two things made me laugh about this quote. First, Lebron calling Bosh a low post threat :lol :lol And secondly, dusting off something makes it sound like you had it for a long time and we all know Lebron has never truly had a post game. These guys say some stupid shit every week it seems. I'm starting to wonder if it's on purpose.

I don't see anything wrong what he said. Y'all stay on Bron's nuts man

It is a tad bit arrogant but as the unequivocal best individual talent in the league right now he's certainly earned his fair share of arrogant self-promotions.

Kinda interested to see Lebron posting with his back to the basket.... dont think he has the proper footwork or quickness in the post to be effective!

How can you not see anything wrong with what he said? :lol

1. Bosh isn't a low post threat so Lebron using him as an excuse is a joke. Bosh is mainly a face up player.

2. Lebron has never had a post game to "dust off". When I see some basic post moves I'll change my mind. I saw him try some post moves against the Celtics earlier this year and he failed miserably. I haven't seen him go back to it since.

crab dribble down low...nba should call that out

LeBron is fully capable of being an outstanding post player and has shown the ability to play there in flashes. He just doesn't like doing it and hasn't put in the effort to be consistently effective at it.

The fact that LeBron is in his eighth season and people are still talking about him not having a post game- and being right in saying it- is pretty sad. He should have made it to a big man camp long ago.

Honestly though, is it that surprising? I don't think there's many players who have a good post game compared to earlier eras. I guess it's not sexy enough.

Bron tried to work on it in the offseason. He just looks fuckin robotic though. I hope his form has gotten better since training camp. I want to watch the Heat game tonight just to see his new and improved post game but the Bulls will be on at the same time.

Eh, there's a silver lining here and that is if it works, the Heat will have one less problem to deal with. I don't know what came over him though to announce this in public in the middle of the season but whatever, every team goes through a series of adjustments.

I just hope this is not some sort of gimmick from here to silence his critics. Eitherway, I'm looking forward in seeing him bust a move down low. I'm sure it will be a thing of beauty. :king

Yeah, like in 2004.

Even more so now with Wade. Hopefully he sees how effective he can be and posts up more often.

LeBron: "Im'a gets my post game on"

LeBon later: "When I said that, I didn't know what post game was, I thought it was an interview that happened after the game"

that trainer looks like his 5'8 or something, and bron has 30cms on him and cant even hit that ?

if only he was a good shooter, maybe he can try that low block fadeaway jumpshot like allan houston

Lebron shot 52% in post-up situations last year..clearly, he's doing something right..

Scoring in the paint and actually having a post game are two different things.

Lebron shot 52% on plays where he was in the post-up position..those numbers are provided by the NBA's scouting tools..

He doesn't have a polished post-up game, but it was effective last season..I agree that he should keep working on it though, obviously..

Lebron isn't going as hard as he could IMO(I don't think any of the 3 Kings are going as hard as they can though)..I watched most of his games last year, I feel like he's coasting on the offensive end this year..you can see that he steps it up in games where Wade is off or isn't playing, but I feel like most of his effort has been on the defensive end this season..

He's content with Wade as the #1 scoring option, Lebron seems to be more focused on being a passer and a defensive anchor..when the playoffs come, he's going to be in the paint a lot more often IMO..

Of coursde he can be effective he is bigger quicker and stronger than every other SF. But if they need a bucket ina close game the LAST place i want Lebron is on the low block. i want him in isolation or on the move cutting and slashing to the hoop.

Kobe has a pretty good post game, as does Pierce (though usually I like Pierce slashing, of course as he gets older that gets slightly less effective.)

And Garnett has a good post-game, but with an asterisk, since it usually results in his turnaround jumper (which is amazingly effective) rather than a layup or other higher-percentage shot.

Granted it was the Raps Lebron showed last night he has a post game.
