It seems they are more serious than Dallas,Boston and maybe the Lakers.
Honestly they were way too strong against us the other night I couldn't even see the end of the tunnel.
They have a real frontcourt :Their own Twin Towers with West an Okafor(this guy averages 11,11 plus nearly 2 blocks a game:wow),talent, shooters the best PG...At least they have the right players to beat the Lakers no problemo.
I' like to see them against the Spurs in the conference finals that would be thrilling:toast

seriously, they won their first matchup with the spurs on the 2nd game of the season.
the last victory came on the second half of a back to back (after playing a shorthanded game against a running Knicks team the night before) in New Orleans when the Spurs couldn't make a jumper to save their lives, and proceeded to basically pack it in once they fell down by double digits in the 3rd.
in between those 2 games were 2 impressive Spurs victories. I wouldn't worry about them (at least not any more so that I would any potential west playoff team).

No team with Chris Paul and David West as its top players will ever be a serious threat.

i still dont consider them to be a serious threat....spurs played them on back end of a back to back after playing the knicks who are also a run n gun team...i would be shocked if hornets take us out in a 7 game series which i dont see happening....but sure they are a good team with good defensive players...

of course they are. If they maintain that D intensity and if we don't improve our interior D, they are a serious threat no doubt.

Whether it be the Spurs or Lakers, I don't see the Hornets getting out of the 2nd round.
If they somehow end up 4th or 5th with the Mavs, I'm not sure they get out of the 1st round.

They are the only team to beat the team with the best record more than once.
But I'm not buying them as true contenders. They can be really scary at times but I think they're a paper tiger. That slump they went into was no joke and their lack of depth is serious.

ignorance is bliss ...
son the back to back excuse is lame ... the Hornets played on the road the night before as well.
the Spurs win in New Orleans earlier in the season was a complete and utter fluke. The Hornets had what? a 20 point led at half time then proceeded to collapse. It was absolutely nothing the Spurs did right, but everything the Hornets did wrong. see I can make up excuses just like you can. just accept the facts ... the Hornets match up very well against the Spurs and have their number. Head to head the Hornets are the better team.

hey yeah so the hornets had a b2b as well but the horents were playing at home as well so thats an advantage for the hornets....anyways I don't see the hornets as a threat....the hornets were winning in the beginning of the season and then started to stink in the middle of the season...now there winning some games again....that just tells you the hornets are not that good and if they make it to the play-offs its not like there going to do any damage in the play-offs....in my book hornets are an ok team...

I will say that NO flat out beat the Spurs in every way possible, but quit trying to cite the Hornets playing a back to back also when they won by 40 points and non of the starters played heavy minutes.

oh give me a f'n break .... if the tables were turned you would be preaching a completely different story. the amount of ridiculous, homer excuses some of you are giving is downright pathetic and shows your ignorance to the game of basketball. some of you always have an excuse for everything....
- yea the Hornets beat the Spurs at home, but it was early in the season so ummm it doesn't count!
- yea so the Hornets curb stomped the Spurs the other night and I know both teams played on the road the night before, but ummmmm ... ummmm.... well I'm just mad ok!!!!!

lame ... son I have been posting here nonstop the entire season. don't try and make shit up.
what in the hell is wrong with bashing, questioning, and criticizing your team??? ... are you trying to say that it is wrong as a fan to criticize your team? should a fan just put their blind/homer glasses on and just go with the flow of everything the team does even though they deserve to be questioned? you mean to tell me that Chris Paul and the Hornets organization hasn't deserved any of the criticism I have gave them this season? ... please tell me
none of that has ever stopped me from supporting, watching, and going to the games since their arrival here. which is something I'm willing to bet that you don't do (more than likely because you can't afford it) ... I spend more money on season tickets than most of you make in a year.

The Hornets aren't shit, they beat the SPURS on a back to back. It doesn't matter if the Hornets had a back to back game, Cp3 and West aren't nearly as old as TD and Manu.
Remember, the Spurs couldn't even beat the Clippers on a back to back, they got absolutely destroyed by the Magic on a back to back, and they nearly lost against a Nuggets team w/out Billups only to win thanks to a last second charge thanks to Manu.

I'm still waiting for your answer though .... what is wrong with a fan criticizing his team? you're the one who started this with your ignorant accusation saying I have jumped on the Hornets bandwagon ... so please tell me what you mean? just because one questions and bashes the players and organization doesn't mean jumping off the bangwagon. which makes it even more pathetic ... Duncan is only 34 years old and some of you act like he is sitting on his death bed. the fact that he requires so much damn rest at such a young age shows his lack of talent. lol at the "resting him for the playoffs while its still only January" excuse ... I'm going to start using that ridiculous excuse for why Chris Paul isn't putting up 20+ points per game this season now.

Duncan has been in the playoffs every year since he was drafted and put in time with the national team. He is a very old 34. But I would still tAke him over any player on the hornets. He has the intangibles it takes to be a four time champ. The hornets can't even win a playoff series when up 3-1. Have fun trying to catch hornets games when they move to Seattle.

Mike Monroe: Hornets’ defense has the league buzzing (http://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursnation/2011/01/26/mike-monroe-hornets-defense-has-the-league-buzzing/)
Mike Monroe
Tim Duncan swears the Hornets have been playing “the best basketball in this league the last 15 or 20 games.”
The Spurs and Hornets have the same 16-4 record over their last 20, but Duncan is right. The Hornets have regained the chemistry that led them to an 11-1 start and had the basketball-loving world wondering how they were doing it.
Now we know: The Hornets have been executing Gregg Popovich’s defensive system better than his league-leading Spurs.
“Physical, physical, well-executed defense,” Popovich said after former pupil Monty Williams’ team held the Spurs to 48 points through three quarters in Saturday’s 96-74 win that prompted Duncan’s praise.
