But is Utah as good defensively as it used to be? And does this team have the luxury of working all those new players in? “Not really,” Williams said. “My contract’s up in two years. It’s a now or never situation. I don’t know what I’m going to do after this one.”
Williams said that a much-changed Jazz squad had a “better mesh of guys” in 2009-10, longing for the days when ex-Utah guards Wesley Matthews and Kyle Korver could command attention and respect from opposing defenses, in turn stretching the floor and balancing out the team’s offensive attack. And Williams again pointed out the Jazz’s inability to run Sloan’s offense like it needs to be executed, as everything from Utah’s poor floor spacing and timing to the simple inability to set hard screens has prevented his team from “flowing.”
“We’re trying to run half of a system and then half just freelance,” Williams said. “We can’t do that. We’re not the Phoenix Suns. We’re not the New York Knicks. We’re not just coming out here and playing one-on-one. But that’s what’s happening. Things are breaking down and we’re going one-on-one the last five seconds of a shot clock.”

Hello Knicks/Lakers
Paul will complement Carmelo, LeBron, Wade, Bosh and Joe Johnson well on the Knicks.

Williams will be gone because the owner prefered to save money over the past years even with hurting the team. How many starters and important role players they lost? Its like what Sarver did with draft picks.
Paul will be gone too because NO is a dead rathole and they have anyway no bench at all.
All these guys want that run and gun shit. They LOVE to play for Mike D, because they get 200 shots a game. One day they will look around and think "I want a championship" and they will move back West.

the Jazz have lost 24 straight games in the Staples Center against the Lakers ... just goes to show you how Utah's yearly home schedule advantage makes them look better than they really are.

If Deron leaves he ain't going to fuckin' Dallas. He barely spends time there come summers. Dude respects the shit out of the Lakers. Keep dreaming Mav fan.
Deron Williams is pretty saying he needs an organized structural offense....hmmmm
Different quote in the local paper (that I'm too lazy too look up and post) but nah, he's basically saying:
We have a particular offense in place and damn if Sloan's gonna do shit to change it, even though I'd like him too, so we might as well get with the f'n program and make lemonade so we don't get embarrassed until the playoffs. Besides, they took away all my athletes and shooters, so it's not like we could even run if we wanted to. Not with our first unit anyway. And I'm pissed off.
That's basically what he's saying.

I'm perturbed, BR, that Deron hasn't been playing well himself and is basically calling out everybody and anybody he can (to the media) instead of acting like a pro.
But I posted what I posted in order to set the record straight insomuch that Deron was saying he 'needs' a structured offense. He wasn't saying that. He was saying 'that's what I've got'. And while I think he'll end up in LA, I don't think his statements have shit to do with the Lakers.

Fuck off guy. Yeah. He grew up there. He's got family there. Great. He stayed/lived in Utah for the first several summers of his career and traveled most of last summer. He's never said shit about the Mavericks as an organization. Meanwhile, he slobbers the Lakers every chance he gets. Always has. I've only watched almost every game of his career and read every quote he's ever given to the hometown paper and I think YOU don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Dumbass.

sons all jokes aside I could easily see Deron going to Dallas. he would fit in far better there then he would in L.A. ... think about it ... in L.A. Deron would be forced to play "sidekick" role due to Kobe constantly chucking up ridiculous and selfish shot attempts. In Dallas Deron would have far more assist opportunities then he would in L.A. and would fit in well with their offense. Ship Kidd out and bring in Deron and the Mavs would for ONCE be a legit threat and their fans would actually have a right to get excited.

In two years LA will not be playing in the triangle and Kobe would be playing sidekick to Deron.

Two years from now both Kobe and Dirk will be well past their prime. However, Lakers would still have Gasol and Bynum while Dallas wouldn't have anyone honestly. Chandler will be gone after this season, Butler is gone, Kidd and Marion are old. Mavs have no one else to build around. D-Will will go with the Lakers before the Mavs.

I agree. Plus, Gasol and Bynum should be there as will so the Lakers would be more attractive to D-Will then the Mavs.

Deron Williams won't be a Laker, everyone knows Stern will snatch the BEST PG for the Lakeshow, & that has to be Paul. The spot-light has kind of shifted from Paul, but he could still very well be the best PG in the league.

The best PG for the Lakers is one who will be a snug fit for the triangle. That's not CP3. :tu

When will all this crap end. Media looking for another "LeBron" story they've been pushing for the past 3+ years.
It's been Carmelo all year, they tried this shit with Parker, now CP3 and Deron. Shit they even started it with Blake Griffin already! Soon they'll be talking about Kyrie Irving jumping ship in free agency before he's even drafted!
NBA needs to start handing out fines to any player or associate who even breathes about impending free agency.

i'd definitely want him but don't see no chance in reality. Stern ain't allowing dat trigga to join tha mavs. just refuse to approve it and the trade will die, even if the two teams have reached an agreement. Lakers are the only team that Stern wants to see stacked tbh, he ain't allowing him to go elsewhere when he's available in dat market.

^Really, they should get into the Gary Neal Story. Not that one they're using now with the endless "And he's from 'Tiny' Towson State!"...followed closely by laughs, good natured guffaws, hearty feelings, and virtual slaps to the back of Pop. No, that one.

What if Phil's not there? The only triangle D-Will will be running is in Miami.
Besides, CP3 can run the triangle. If Fisher can do it, CP3 easily can. Excellent 3-point shooter, excellent passer, and solid defensively.
Besides, running the triangle would be a waste of CP3's skills. D-Will's too.

Of course Paul can run it but i agree it is waste of his skills. Dwll would fit better because he has played off the ball in college the olympics etc and hi game just fits better. Any smart coach that runs the triangle would tweak it to the skills of their stars.

How long is until the Nets make an offer to the Jazz they could send a lot and D Harris who is not that far of a step down with the proper coaching? DWill is a better player than Anthony and would be a finer piece to try to build up that franchise IMO.

rumor has it the Blazers were cursed by the Red-head for letting him rot in clippers exile BEFORE being saved by the Celts in 1986 ...
Blazers will not win until the John wooden's bastard son is dead and gone ...:lol
