Ok I know this board has some 60's children..I was born way after that so I was hoping to get your help on a song.

First of all no bitching about the very very very little info I provide. Proceed at your own risk.

I don't have much info about the song sadly so this will test you experts. The song I seek is from (I assume) the 60's..maybe 70's. I know it is not a far fetched song. It is not some song on some rare album. I have heard the song play a number of times in movies. Unfortunately I don't remember any of the movies it came out on. I have no lyrics...no music..nothing. Sucks I know.
I don't think any of you will find the song I seek on such limited info, but why not give it a shot.

Here is what I know:

I would assume it is a well known song by ppl who lived in that era.

Is it a well know group? Maybe..

The beginning of the song is probably the most ear catching. The singer(s) is singing(maybe almost talking) in a low tone with some smooth music. I remember it being harmonic.

Maybe I shouldn't say this but the people I asked in person leaned toward the doors. or the beatles (don't want to mislead anyone)

Since I only remember the beginning of the song the most it's hard to look to amazon or youtube cause most show clips in the middle of the song.

Here are the last clues..the songs below sound a tad like the song I seek.

0:47-1:20 sounds like the song I'm looking for.
0NE37ncUzlE

also in the song "yesterday" by the beatles the way he says "yesterday" sways me to think the song I am looking for is from them. But who knows..

that's it .. like I said I don't expect to get an answer maybe just throw out a few song suggestions. Just a prayer I guess...the song has been driving me nuts.

Kind of reminds me of Epitaph. Dunno why. Song is from 1969's In the Court of The Crimson King by King Crimson. Their debut album

Well I was not born anywhere near the 60's but I had a teacher that played that music everyday. Some of it was good...others...horrible.

The example song you posted really sounds like Eleanor Rigby, but they're not talking at the beginning:

Can you remember anything about what the song is about? Is it a happy love song? Is is a sad song about war? Any images that come to mind when you think of it?

Iron, reckoning, frenzy, summers not to be picky but Starz said it came out in movies. Any of those songs come out in movies?
I think the end by the doors has and maybe even where have all the flowers gone.

Could help to post the movie with the song in it to spark a memory.

Yea, well if she knew the movie, it would also help to look at the credits from that movie and see exactly what the song is.

This is from the 80's, but that Supertramp song you posted, reminds me of it:
