Fucking Toy Story 3 winning anything pisses me off because it was such a terrible and forgettable regurgitated piece of crap. I can't believe its fucking up for best picture. Too many damn nominees in that category.

This looks set up perfectly for The King's Speech to curbstomp. Just like the Academy to jizz their pants over some limp wristed British Colin Firth movie.

Not surprised no Blacks were nominated. The Kings Speech was an excellent movie though.

Is there a movie that didn't get nominated for Best Picture? It's absurd they couldn't narrow it down to half that amount.

The Kings Speech is poised to sweep, which is fine with me cuz I love, love, love Colin Firth.

I'm only watching if Ricky Gervais hosts it.

It is a very good movie and you should give it a viewing. I thought Black Swan sucked myself.

Come on dude, if you didn't think Lottery Ticket deserved some nominations, you're just plain crazy.

Ha. People bitched cuz they would only nominate 3-5 movies for best movie and now they up it and..........bitch bitch bitch. :lol
It's a fucking movie y'all and you'll probably bitch afterward cuz yours didn't win. Too funny.

I never bitched about that and I've never heard anybody else do it either. There are only 4/5 movies that deserve the nomination tbh.

I liked Toy Story 3 a lot, but I think it could be argued that How to Train Your Dragon is better. Neither belongs in the top 10 for 2011 though.

That shit is sitting on my hard drive and I have no motivation to watch it.

I'm fairly indifferent to Colin Firth (I think he's a good actor, but last year's A Single Man was the first time I thought he was anything special), but The King's Speech was really, really good. Even if you hate Firth, watch it for Geoffry Rush and Helena Bonham Carter (and Guy Pearce, who even in a tiny role remains horribly underrated). They're fantastic in it.

Also, it's silly to get worked up about the Best Picture nominations going up to ten films. Doesn't change much. Probably only five (or fewer) of those have any real chance of winning, but at least something like The Kids Are All Right is honored with a nomination when its early release date likely would have left it out of the running in a different year.

disney pumped alot of money into trying to getting toy story 3 nominated, considering how UP was better than the hurt locker last year . I doubt it stands any chance of winning. But saying it doesn't belong is pretty off base, it was the best reviewed movie of the year

So because other people complain about something we're not allowed to complain if they change it? Thats some pretty stupid logic.

Then again, maybe you were just bitching about the bitching because you - very obvious by this very post - never bitch.

Amazing.

I've heard nothing but good things about The Kings Speech...might have to check it out. I always make an effort to see all the movies that are on the Best Picture list at the Oscars, not that it makes them great movies.

I agree with you, I didn't watch this on theaters and when I once got to watching it... I kept waiting for it to end.

There's no way it belongs there.

I just liked it better when It was Toy Story and Toy Story. Same shit the 3rd time around is still the same shit.

Its not even the best animated movie of the year. Both Despicable Me and How To Train A Dragon were better.

Wow. Your brain must start hurting around noon with all that brain processing you do. Geez. Dial it back a little, Dr Hawking. First you can't fucking read earlier and now you're channelling fucking Freud. You must really not like yourself right now cuz you're shitting on anyone that doesn't use correct punctuation or some other "enlightened kick" you're on.

:lmao

Freud? The fuck? I just find it funny that someone is bitching about bitching.

I have no idea what the fuck else you're talking about (with exception of the reading part - I fucked up earlier but I manned up to it). Pretty sure I've never complained about anyone's punctuation considering I have horrible grammar myself, but ok?

Anyway, bitch some more about bitching, Viva. :tu

What amazes me is how serious some take movies and reviews. I think Toy Story 3 was great but I'm not surprised that others didn't like it as much and IMO, Despicable Me was not all that great and I'd put the Kings Speech ahead of True Grit. I haven't seen any of the others though.

Sucks for James Franco cause his performance in 127 Hours is one of the best performances ever. The problem is that Colin Firth's performance was one of the best ever as well. Any other year and Franco would win.

that situation happens every year, especially with best picture. No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood were in the same year. Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, and Shawshank Redemption were in the same year. Goodfellas and Dances With Wolves. The 70's pretty much had at least 2 great movies every freaking year. And the same thing happens with best performance like you said

Colin Firth and Natalie Portman with another set of wins at the SAG Awards. This year will be no drama over those categories at the Academy Awards. Best cast ensemble in a movie went to The King's Speech.

The year of Titanic also included both Good Will Hunting and As Good As it Gets.

Besides the dumbfuck academy, the only people who think Titanic is a better movie than Good Will Hunting are teenage girls
