Gerryatrics

PM5K, first off, calm down before you make an ass of yourself. The "dramatic effect" comment was in response to a comment about the ABC crew mentioning flopping. The technical was for hanging on to Amare after play was stopped. The refs were basiclly saying Manu baited Amare and they called the double-T. I personally think it was the only call that made sense in that situation, but I understand if you disagree.

Duncan played like shit, Parker couldn't hit any open 15 footers. Good games from Bowen seem to always get wasted. Ginobili came to play. Nobody else showed up. Barry sucked. Horry did good but he can't get a foul call under the hoop. Don't know why.

05-30-2005, 10:11 PM
The Spurs are up 3-1. They lost 1 game, probably the hardest game to win for most teams completing a sweep.

The game is not fixed, the double T was a good call, and the Spurs still have the advantage by far. Game 5 in Phoenix and if necessar back to SA for game 6.

One loss after 3 wins in this series and this board is lit up with negative commentary.

The Suns were down 3-0 and the Suns board weren't this bad.

Spurs are up 3-1 again fellas. The Suns may have found new life with the win and with the little "scuffle" if you will at the end.

PS JJ is pretty good.

ballhog
05-30-2005, 10:14 PM
Refs let 'em play tonight. Suns were unconscious during the third quarter. That was the difference. Oh yeah, the Suns were in a must-win situation. They should play better.
How does Stoudemire get 2 quick fouls, then not get any the rest of the game?

Supergirl
05-30-2005, 10:14 PM
This loss is BS. This is the NBA making sure every series goes to 5 games.

Nash takes about 4 extra steps on at least 3 possessions, no call. Parker breathes NEAR the perimeter line and gets called for going out of bounds. I call BS. Amare knocks Manu, Duncan, Horry down, very few fouls called. I call BS.

That being said, if Duncan makes those FTs, we still win the game.

How does Stoudemire get 2 quick fouls, then not get any the rest of the game?

Exactly. It's one thing to have bogus calls, but they should be evenly bogus. Parker got nothing from the refs, Nash could do-si-do to the basket and not get called for traveling.

JustSpurs
05-30-2005, 10:18 PM

Remeber this anybody :sad

The Alamo was another classic defeat, but at least it wasn't this humiliating.

Before a national television audience - with the depleted and demoralized Dallas Mavericks on the ground, without their star player and down 3-1 in the NBA Western Conference finals - the Spurs blew it Tuesday night.

"I have no idea what just happened," a dazed Raymond Longoria said as he left the SBC Center with two minutes left. "We were too confident, I guess."

Behind Michael Finley's 31 points, and eight clutch rebounds and 11 timely points from former San Antonio prep star Eduardo Najera, the Mavs shocked the heavily favored Spurs 103-91.

It was bitter loss for San Antonio.

As in a half-dozen previous playoff games this season, the Spurs blew a big lead. This time, it was 19 points, but they couldn't crawl out of the hole.

Dallas tied the game 83-83 with 8: 38 left and took the lead at 85-84 on Raef LaFrentz's dunk 56 seconds later.

The Spurs mustered seven points the rest of the way as the Mavs poured it on, turning the game into a laugher.

The Spurs still hold a 3-2 lead in the series and can close it out in Game 6 Thursday in Dallas. It's possible that Mavs star Dirk Nowitzki, who missed Tuesday's game with a knee injury, will play.

Disbelieving fans spilled out into the South Texas night looking for answers, like a battalion of zombies in search of teenage victims.

"We missed too many outside shots," a pained Donnell Williams said. "We had things going. We could've won this game and used the rest."

Instead of lining up for NBA Finals tickets today, Spurs fans will be thinking, "What if?"

"If we'd won," Adam Medina said, "we could've nailed the coffin shut."

RULE NO. 11-BASKETBALL INTERFERENCE-GOALTENDING

Section I-A Player Shall Not:
a. Touch the ball or the basket ring when the ball is using the basket ring as its lower base.
EXCEPTION: If a player near his own basket has his hand legally in contact with the ball, it is not a violation if his contact with the ball continues after the ball enters the cylinder, or if, in such action, he touches the basket.
