Game of the month, no doubt. Glad Lakers are in a good groove going into this game. Lakers-Celtics is arguably the most probable finals match up we'll see come June. That being said, this game is still way too early in the season to put too much stock into in terms of trying to assess how these teams match up against each other. I do expect a playoff type atmosphere nonetheless, and I'm really at a loss for betting on this game. I have no fucking clue right now. It's too close for me to wager major money on tbh.

anybody dismissing this rivalry just doesnt get ball. Yes it was dormant in the 90's .. because both franchise struggled in the post, 80's Jordan era of the NBA.

But talk to any of the former players from the 60's and 80's especially.
Talk to old-time NBA fans ...this rivalry is not manufactured by poximity, trash talk or a few hard fouls. The celts/Lakers have all of that. sure the media fed in to the blue-collar vs showtime stuff ...and now the finesse vs. physical stuff, but this rivalry means something. as you all know, I left the bandwagon AFTER they won the title, which doesn't make sense, but I didn't like the team they had, and I started to dislike Wade, because of all the Jordan hype..

but now as they struggled early, I started getting the Heat feeling back, and when they got Eddie Jones, that sparked shit for me..so they're my Eas team with SA as my West team..

I'm interested to see Bynum v. Shaq. Bynum has been "playing big" as of late. I've mentioned before that he us up to 295lbs now. But still, Shaq is bigger and stronger. The thing is, Shaq is 39 and will only be good in spurts. 4th qtr? Fuggetaboutit - he's a liability because he can't shoot FTs - just like in his LA days.

As far as Bynum v. Perk: advantage Bynum. Bynum is a lot more seasoned this year. These last 7 games or so has been his best display of defense/rebounding that I have ever seen from him. I think he will beast Perk mostly because Perk will finally have like only 5 games under his belt (kind of like Blair giving Bynum the business when he too just got off of rehab and hardly any games under his belt). I expect the Finals matchup of Bynum and Perk to be more indicative of what both centers bring to the game.

By the way, it was Bynum who ended Perk's season last year. He held up just fine to the "pounding" and played in all 7 games on a bum wheel. That showed me toughness that I like to see in my starting center. Sunday's game will be fun to watch. As much as they are pissed about 2010 Game 7, I still believe the Lakers are more pissed about 2008 Game 6. They choked a 13 point 3rd qtr lead, but we got shellacked in that game 6. I believe the Lakers will be ready. :ihit
